Office Chair Armrest Broken
If the armrest of your office chair is broken, you can take corresponding repair measures based on the damage situation, as follows:

Confirm the Damage Situation
First, carefully observe the damaged part and extent of the armrest. Determine whether the screws at the connection are loose, whether the armrest itself is broken, or whether there is a problem with the control device for adjusting the height. For example, if the armrest wobbles significantly, it is likely that the connecting screws are loose; if there are obvious cracks or breaks in the armrest, it means the armrest itself is broken; if the armrest cannot operate normally when adjusting the height, there may be a fault with the control device.
Prepare the Appropriate Tools
Prepare suitable tools according to the confirmed damage situation. If the screws are loose, prepare a screwdriver that matches the screws; if a plastic armrest is broken, you will need strong adhesive; if the damage is severe and cannot be repaired, measure the size of the armrest and purchase a new one with a matching model.
Start the Repair
- Loose Screws: Use the prepared screwdriver to tighten the loose screws. When tightening the screws, pay attention to applying an appropriate amount of force to avoid over-tightening and causing the screws to strip.
- Broken Armrest: First, clean the broken surface of the armrest to remove dust and impurities. Then, apply strong adhesive and firmly attach the broken parts. After attaching, let it sit for a while to ensure that the adhesive is completely dry and the armrest is firmly connected.
- Replacing the Armrest: For structures with visible fixing screws similar to rotating door handles, first unscrew the three screws on the side of the door (the top and bottom ones fix the lock body, and the middle one is for handle positioning). Then, remove the two screws on the inside of the door while holding the outer door handle with your hand to prevent it from falling and breaking. Next, remove the outer door handle and cover plate (be careful not to lose the cover plate screws). Then, install the inner handle, rotate the screw holes to the outside, and tighten them with a screwdriver. Finally, after installing all the parts, pull the handle several times with your hand to check if it is normal, firm, and flexible. If it does not work properly, check whether it is installed correctly or replace the lock body. For other types, first remove the old armrest, align the new one and install it, tightening all the fixing screws. Finally, adjust it up and down to ensure that the function is fully restored and the installation is stable.
