Office Chair Anti-Slip

Admin October 12, 2026

To prevent an office chair from slipping, you can take the following measures:

First, use everyday items to increase friction. Fold A4 paper and insert it between the wheels and the ground to enhance friction by increasing the roughness of the contact surface, making the chair harder to move. This method is low-cost and easy to operate, but requires regular checks to ensure the paper hasn't shifted or worn out, and timely replacement to maintain effectiveness.

Second, use dedicated fixing devices. Purchase a chair wheel fixer, designed similarly to devices used to fix refrigerators and washing machines, which securely holds the wheels in place on the ground using physical clasps or locking mechanisms. These products are usually compatible with various wheel types and effectively prevent sliding after installation, suitable for scenarios where the chair needs to be fixed for a long time.

Third, lay anti-slip carpets. Choose carpets specifically designed for computer chairs, whose surface materials increase friction between the wheels and the ground, reducing accidental movement. At the same time, carpets can also serve as decorative elements to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the office environment, but require regular cleaning to prevent dust buildup from affecting anti-slip performance.

Fourth, optimize ground conditions. Ensure the ground is flat without pits or slopes to prevent the chair from sliding automatically due to unevenness. If there are minor cracks or bumps on the ground, use self-leveling materials for repair to reduce sliding risks from the root.

Fifth, replace worn wheels. If the chair wheels are worn from long-term use, their grip will decrease. Timely replacement of new wheels can restore stability. It is recommended to choose rubber or textured wheels, which have stronger friction with the ground and better anti-slip effects.

Finally, choose fixed wheel accessories. Select fixed wheels with different functions according to your needs:

  • Fixed caster wheels: Once installed, the wheels cannot rotate, suitable for scenarios where no movement is required at all;
  • Wheels with brake pads: Lock the wheels by manually operating the brake pads, offering high flexibility;
  • Sit-brake wheels: These can move freely normally and automatically lock when seated, balancing convenience and safety. These accessories need to be matched and installed according to the chair model, and compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.
