Office Chair Adjustment Illustration
Here are the adjustment methods for common types of office chairs:

Pneumatic rod adjustment type: The adjustment device of this type of office chair is located under the chair, usually a control lever. When adjusting the backrest angle, a person needs to sit on the chair first, pull the control lever upward with their hand, and then lean back. The backrest will tilt backward along with the body movement. When it reaches a suitable angle, release the control lever, and the backrest angle will be fixed. To return the backrest to its original upright angle, pull the control lever again and sit up straight forward, and the backrest will return to its original position.
Knob adjustment type: The knob is generally set on the side or bottom of the office chair. Turn the knob clockwise, and the backrest will gradually tighten, with the angle relatively fixed, which is suitable for scenarios where a fixed sitting posture needs to be maintained. Turn the knob counterclockwise, and the backrest will loosen. At this time, a person can lean on the backrest and make the backrest tilt backward to the desired angle according to the force they apply to the backrest.
Handle adjustment type: Some office chairs are equipped with handles on the outer sides of the seats. When adjusting the backrest angle, pull the handle upward, and the backrest can tilt backward. When returning the backrest to its original position, pull the handle downward, and the backrest will move forward.
Boss chair backrest recline adjustment: The adjuster of the boss chair is located under the chair. When adjusting, pull the adjuster upward while applying force to the back to make the chair back tilt. Before reaching the appropriate tilt angle, do not release your hand and keep applying force to the back until the desired tilt angle is achieved, and then release the hand controlling the adjuster.
Pneumatic rod adjustment:
- Pneumatic type: First, find the operating lever under the seat and maintain a correct sitting posture, that is, keep your feet flat on the ground and your thighs and calves at a 90-degree angle as much as possible. For a lever-type operating lever, pull it outward or downward and hold it. For a button-type one, just press the button. If the chair is heavy or the adjustment is not smooth, you can slightly lift your hips during operation. To raise the chair, pull the operating lever when no one is sitting on it. To lower the chair, pull the operating lever while sitting.
- Screw type: Find the knob under the seat. Usually, turning it clockwise will lower the chair height, and turning it counterclockwise will raise the chair height.
