Large Office Chair Installation

Admin October 10, 2026

The installation of a large office chair should follow the principle of fixing from the bottom up and step by step. The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Install the Chair Base and Gas Lift Most office chairs adopt an installation logic of "bottom first, then top." First, place the chair base (such as a five-claw base) flat on the ground and select accessories according to the model:

    • For 205/206 office chairs, insert the five casters one by one into the corresponding holes of the five-claw base, ensuring that the buckles are fully embedded;
    • For large five-claw computer chairs, after inserting the wheels into the five-claw base, shake the chair base left and right to align the gas lift fixing hole with the center of the five-claw base. Then, vertically insert the gas lift into the center hole of the chair base, ensuring that the bottom is fully in contact and there is no shaking. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height. It should be kept vertical during installation to avoid air leakage or damage caused by tilting.
  2. Fix the Seat and Backrest After installing the seat, connect it to the backrest. This step requires precise operation according to the screw specifications:

    • Large five-claw computer chairs use three medium-length screws to fix the backrest. Before installation, adjust the backrest angle to a suitable position. After fixing, tighten the screws one by one to avoid loosening;
    • 205/206 office chairs require four M6*25mm screws to connect the armrests and the backrest. Note that the screws should pass through the armrest holes and be close to the backrest bracket. Incorrect screw specifications may lead to structural instability. Be sure to check the accessory list before installation.
  3. Install the Armrests and Headrest When installing the armrests and headrest, pay attention to aligning the holes and matching the screws:

    • For 205/206 office chairs, use two M620mm screws with washers to fix the upper and lower parts of the armrests. After installation, add a decorative cover to hide the screws. The headrest is fixed with two M630mm screws from the top hole of the backrest, ensuring that the headrest is adjustable but not loose;
    • For large five-claw computer chairs, align the armrests with the reserved holes on the gas cylinder tray, fix them with medium-length screws, and press them firmly into place to ensure a tight connection between the armrests and the seat.
  4. Detail Adjustment and Inspection After installation, perform a functional test:

    • Adjust the backrest height (for example, lock the butterfly backrest to a suitable position) to ensure that the backrest can be fixed and there is no abnormal noise;
    • Test the lifting function of the gas lift to check whether the seat can rise and fall smoothly without jamming;
    • Shake the chair body to check whether the connections between various components are tight, focusing on checking whether the screws are tightened and whether the wheels are flexible.

Tip: The accessories (such as screw lengths and chair base structures) of different models may vary. Before installation, carefully read the instruction manual and check the accessory list to avoid rework caused by incorrect accessories.
