Installation of Solid Wood Four-Legged Office Chair

Admin October 08, 2026

The installation steps for a solid wood four-legged office chair are as follows:

1. Prepare Components
Before installation, ensure all components are complete, including armrests (one each for left and right), backrest support, seat cushion, chair legs (4 pieces), screws (hexagonal socket screws, large white screws, M6X30mm short screws, M6ร—45mm long screws, etc.), and washers. It is recommended to categorize and place the components to avoid omission or confusion.

2. Install Chair Legs
Align the chair legs with the grooves at the bottom of the seat cushion, ensuring the holes are aligned before screwing in the screws. If the screws are difficult to insert, it may be due to misalignment of the holes; gently shake the chair legs to adjust their position. Some chair legs with wider widths need to be installed at the front, in which case use M6ร—45mm long screws to align with the holes on the seat cushion and screw them in to ensure a secure connection.

3. Install Armrests and Backrest Connection Parts

  • Armrest and Backrest Connection: Use 4 M6X30mm short screws, each with a silver washer, align them with the holes on the side of the backrest and screw them in. Do not tighten the screws fully yet for subsequent adjustments.
  • Armrest and Seat Cushion Connection: Similarly, use 4 M6X30mm short screws and silver washers, align them with the holes on the side of the seat cushion and screw them in, then tighten the screws sequentially to ensure a firm connection between the armrests and the seat cushion.

4. Install Backrest

  • Backrest Support Installation: Turn the chair upside down (with the bent part of the armrests facing backward and the installation holes facing inward), and secure the backrest support at the rear end of the chair.
  • Backrest Adjustment and Fixation:
    • Front Installation of Backrest: Initially screw three screws into the holes on the front of the backrest (the holes are elongated). Adjust the position of the screws to fine-tune the front-to-back angle of the backrest. Press the screws inward while tightening them.
    • Height Adjustment of Backrest: There are two installation holes at the rear of the backrest. Place the backrest in front of the support, add washers, and screw in the screws through the elongated holes at the rear of the support. Adjust the up-and-down position of the backrest while the screws are not fully tightened, and then tighten them to secure the height.

5. Adjustment and Inspection

  • Backrest Adjustment: Loosen the backrest screws to adjust the height up and down or fine-tune the front-to-back angle through the elongated holes.
  • Chair Leg Adjustment: Loosen the three screws on the chair legs to rotate and adjust the height. Ensure that the heights of all four chair legs are consistent to prevent the chair from wobbling.
  • Stability Inspection: After installation, shake the backrest, armrests, and chair legs to check for any looseness or unusual noises. If any looseness is found, retighten the corresponding screws.

Precautions: Avoid excessive force when screwing during installation to prevent stripping; if any components are missing or the holes are misaligned, contact after-sales service for assistance.
