Installation Guide for Office Chair

Admin October 10, 2026

You can install an office chair following the steps below. There may be slight differences depending on the model, so adjustments should be made according to the specific product.

I. Basic Installation

  1. Connecting Chair Wheels to the Five-Star Base: Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes at the bottom of the five-star base, ensuring that each wheel is fully seated to prevent looseness.
  2. Installing the Gas Lift: Flip the five-star base so that it faces upwards. Place the thicker end of the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the five-star base, ensuring a tight fit between the gas lift and the base.
  3. Securing the Seat Base to the Seat Cushion: Place the seat base on the bottom of the seat cushion, paying attention to the orientation of the base (usually marked). Align the four screw holes, then use a screwdriver to insert each of the four screws 3-4 turns initially, and then tighten them one by one to prevent the base from shifting.
  4. Connecting the Seat Cushion to the Gas Lift: Align the hole at the bottom of the seat cushion with the top of the gas lift and insert it vertically into the hole in the base, ensuring a secure connection.

II. Connecting the Backrest to the Seat Cushion

  1. Initial Positioning: Align the bottom sides of the backrest with the armrest mounting positions on both sides of the seat cushion, and slowly insert them until the bottom slots are fully seated.
  2. Securing the Bottom of the Backrest: Use two screws to pass through the bottom of the armrest brackets and initially secure the bottom of the backrest to the armrests, ensuring that the screw specifications match.
  3. Locking the Back of the Backrest: Align the mounting holes at the back of the backrest with the holes on the seat cushion brackets. Use two wrenches (or a flat-head screwdriver and a wrench in combination) to lock the backrest to the seat cushion brackets with screws, ensuring that there is no wobbling at the connection.

III. Installing the Armrests

  1. Inserting the Armrests: Press the button (if any) below the armrest surface, and align the left and right armrests vertically with the holes on the armrest brackets and insert them. A clicking sound indicates that they are properly seated.
  2. Screw Fixing (Optional): Some models require screws to secure the armrests to the frame. In this case, flip the chair seat and screw in the screws from the bottom and tighten them. If the armrests are already secured with clips, this step can be skipped.

IV. Installing the Headrest

  1. Positioning the Headrest: Place the headrest vertically in the middle of the top of the backrest and gently press the mounting area of the headrest to make it fit more closely with the backrest.
  2. Securing the Headrest: Use two screws to pass through the holes in the headrest mounting clips and screw them into the reserved screw holes at the top of the backrest. Insert each screw 3-4 turns initially, and then tighten them until they are secure.

V. Installing Other Components

  1. Installing the Footrest (if applicable): Align the connecting rod of the footrest with the holes at the bottom of the seat cushion and insert it, ensuring that the clips or screws are properly secured.
  2. Adjusting the Gas Lift (Optional): If the gas lift is not fully seated into the base, check the alignment again and press down vertically to ensure that the gas lift is fully connected to the base.

Precautions: Read the product manual before installation to confirm the screw specifications and installation sequence. Avoid applying excessive force when tightening screws to prevent stripping. After installation, check that all components are secure and shake the chair to test for any abnormalities before use.
