How to Tilt an Office Chair Forward
The methods for adjusting the forward tilt of office chairs vary depending on the brand and model, and adjustments should be made according to the specific model. Here are the forward tilt adjustment methods for common types:

1. Ergohuman Elite 2 Office Chair
This model features a side lever design. When adjusting, maintain a stable sitting posture. The specific steps are as follows: Sit on the chair and use your left or right hand (depending on the position of the lever) to push the left lever downward once. At this point, the seat cushion will enter the forward tilt mode. To restore it to the horizontal position, push the lever downward again to lock it. There is no need to apply excessive force during the adjustment process to avoid damaging the mechanical structure.
2. Ergohuman Classic Office Chair (Old Model)
The adjustment device of the old model is located under the seat cushion, requiring you to bend over or lean forward to operate. The steps are as follows: Locate the round button in the center of the bottom of the seat cushion. Use your finger to push the button upward and then release it immediately. The seat cushion will automatically enter the forward tilt state. If you need to adjust the angle, repeat the button-pushing action. Each operation will change the fixed angle until you find a comfortable position.
3. Some Executive Chairs (Check the Base Direction)
Before adjusting such chairs, confirm that the base is installed correctly:
- When the base is installed backward: If the forward tilt adjustment lever is on the left side, it indicates that the base direction is incorrect. You need to turn the chair upside down, use a screwdriver to unscrew the 4 fixing screws connecting the base to the seat cushion, rotate the base 180 degrees, and then reinstall it to ensure that the control lever is on the right side.
- When the base is installed correctly: Sit on the chair and reach under the seat cushion with your right or left hand (depending on the position of the lever) to find the long, rectangular adjustment lever. While pulling the lever, shift your body weight slightly forward to feel the change in the seat cushion angle. When the seat cushion is tilted to a horizontal or comfortable angle, release the lever, and the mechanical structure will automatically lock it in place. If the adjustment is ineffective, check whether the lever is loose or whether the internal spring is damaged.
Precautions:
- Ensure that the chair is in a stable state before adjustment to avoid the risk of tipping over.
- Apply an appropriate amount of force during operation to avoid breaking parts due to violent pulling.
- If the chair has not been used for a long time, apply a small amount of lubricating oil to the mechanical joints before adjustment.
- Some models may require you to press two buttons simultaneously or adjust them in combination with your body weight. It is recommended to refer to the product manual.
