How to Make an Office Chair Comfortable
To make an office chair comfortable, comprehensive adjustments should be made in terms of seat height, sitting posture angle, armrest height, monitor height, chair stability, and design details.

Seat Height: The appropriate seat height is the foundation of comfort. Your feet should be completely flat on the ground, with the angle between your thighs and calves maintained at 95 to 100 degrees, ensuring an even distribution of body weight and avoiding excessive pressure on your buttocks and thighs. If the chair is too high and your feet are left hanging, use a footrest; if the chair is too low and increases pressure on your knees, adjust or replace the appropriate components.
Sitting Posture Angle: Leaning back slightly at an angle of about 100 to 110 degrees can effectively reduce lumbar pressure. The key is to have your entire back, especially your lower back, in contact with the chair back. If the chair is equipped with a lumbar support, adjust it to the point where it precisely supports the natural curve of your lumbar spine, providing a stable and comfortable feeling rather than a rigid push.
Armrest Height: Adjust the armrest height so that when your elbows hang naturally, your forearms can rest easily on the armrests or the desktop, with the angle between your upper and lower arms close to 100 degrees. This support can relieve the burden on your shoulders and reduce shoulder fatigue.
Monitor Height: Elevate the monitor so that your line of sight is level with the top edge of the screen, forcing your spine to stretch naturally and avoiding unconscious forward leaning. Leaning forward can instantly increase neck pressure by three to five times, and long-term exposure can easily lead to neck diseases.
Choose a Stable Chair: The chair should be sturdy yet comfortable, providing good support for the pressure on your buttocks. Your feet should be at least at a 90-degree angle, allowing your soles to rest comfortably on the ground. If your soles cannot reach the ground, purchase a footrest or replace the chair with a shorter gas lift.
Pay Attention to Chair Design Details: For example, dual-back support can more flexibly conform to the spinal curves of different users, dispersing back pressure and guiding correct sitting posture; flexible adjustment features, such as multi-dimensional adjustments of seat height and depth, armrests, and lumbar support, can precisely adapt to the physical conditions of different people, ensuring comfortable support in various postures.
