How to Draw Office Chairs
Admin October 16, 2026
There are mainly two methods for drawing office chairs: the plan drawing method and the drawing method for office swivel chairs. Here is a detailed introduction for you:

Plan Drawing Method
The plan drawing method is relatively simple and is mainly used to represent the form of office chairs from a plan view.
- Determine the table outline: First, use two rectangles to draw the approximate outline of the table. The sizes and proportions of these two rectangles can be set according to actual needs. Generally, one rectangle represents the tabletop, and the other represents the supporting part of the table, such as the area where the table legs are located. In this way, a relatively spatial position and proportional relationship are determined for the subsequent drawing of the chair.
- Draw the boss's chair: The chair for the boss is usually designed to be comfortable and rounded, so it is generally drawn with arcs. You can first draw a general arc as the outline of the chair's seat surface, reflecting its softness and fit to the human body curve. Then, add supporting structures below the seat surface. You can use simple lines to outline the shape of the chair legs. The chair legs can be curved to increase the stability and aesthetics of the chair.
- Draw the guest's chair: The chair for guests is relatively simple and regular and can be drawn with straight edges and right angles. First, draw a rectangle as the seat surface of the chair, and then draw four vertical chair legs below the seat surface. The chair legs can be of equal length or have some variations according to design requirements. If the chair has a backrest, it can be represented by a rectangle or trapezoid, and the height and inclination angle of the backrest can be adjusted according to the actual situation.
Drawing Method for Office Swivel Chairs
Office swivel chairs have a relatively complex structure and functions such as rotation and height adjustment. When drawing, it is necessary to represent each part more carefully.
- Draw the basic frame: First, draw a rounded rectangle, which can serve as the basic shape of the swivel chair's seat surface. Draw straight lines on both sides of the rounded rectangle to represent the armrests of the chair. Draw small rectangles at the top to connect the backrest and other structures. Draw a rectangle in the middle as the part of the gas rod for height adjustment.
- Add the backrest: Draw a large rounded rectangle at the top as the backrest. The shape of the backrest can be adjusted according to design requirements. For example, it can have a certain curvature to better fit the human back.
- Draw the bottom bracket: Then, draw the bottom bracket of the swivel chair downwards. The bottom bracket is usually in the shape of a star or other stable shapes to support the entire chair.
- Add the casters: Draw small casters at the end of each bottom bracket. The casters are the key part that allows the swivel chair to move flexibly. Pay attention to representing the circular shape of the casters and their connection with the bracket.
- Coloring: Finally, color the swivel chair according to actual needs to make the picture more vivid and realistic.
