How to Deflate an Office Chair
There are several methods to deflate an office chair, and you can choose the appropriate one based on the type and structure of the chair:

Using Tools to Operate the Pneumatic Rod
Some office chairs have a dedicated deflation port on the pneumatic rod, usually located at the bottom or side of the rod. First, locate the deflation port and gently unscrew it with a suitable tool, such as a small wrench or screwdriver. After opening it, slowly press down on the pneumatic rod while controlling the speed and force to prevent the chair's structure from becoming unstable due to a rapid drop in air pressure. Continuously observe the air pressure changes. When the chair feels comfortable to sit on and does not suddenly sink, immediately close the deflation port and check for airtightness to prevent air leakage from affecting subsequent use. This method is suitable for most ordinary pneumatic lift chairs and is relatively simple to operate, but attention should be paid to tool matching and force control.
Complex Operations for Lift Chairs
For lift chairs with more complex structures, such as those with air pumps, the deflation steps require more caution. First, use a screwdriver of the appropriate size to unscrew the four screws on the chair base and separate the base from the chair body. Next, use pliers to pull out the plastic clip on the air pump. This process may be difficult, so operate carefully to avoid excessive force causing a sudden change in internal pressure in the air pump, which could lead to an explosion risk. Then, use a long, thin Phillips screwdriver to firmly press down on the protruding metal pin on the air pump. As the metal pin descends, the air pump will gradually deflate. Press down slowly; excessive force can produce a loud noise and even damage the air pump. After the gas is fully released, the chair needs to be reassembled: adjust the height of the lift chair to a suitable position, thread a wire through the plastic tube and wrap it around the pneumatic rod to secure the position of the lift chair and prevent it from automatically lifting or lowering again. This method is suitable for professional lift chairs, involves complex operations, and requires a certain level of hands-on ability. It is recommended that non-professionals perform these operations under guidance.
Simple Button Operation
Some office chairs are designed with a quick-deflation button, usually located at the bottom of the chair. After locating the small button at the bottom of the chair, simply press and hold it, and the gas will be slowly released, lowering the height of the chair. This method is the simplest to operate and requires no tools. It is suitable for chairs with convenient deflation functions, but note that the position of the button may vary depending on the model, so look carefully.
