Homemade Back Cushion for Office Chair
There are multiple ways to make a homemade back cushion for an office chair. Here are the specific methods:

Making a patchwork cushion from fabric scraps: First, prepare the materials. You will need small fabric pieces that are 8 cm wide and 1 cm long, with 8 pieces per group and a total of eight groups. These fabric pieces can be of different colors to enhance aesthetics. Next, perform initial processing. Fold the edges of the small fabric pieces by 2 cm and then use your fingers to create distinct creases for easier handling later. Then, proceed with stitching. Arrange the folded fabric pieces in a row with a 1 cm gap between each piece, ensuring that the color patterns of the eight groups are consistent. Press lines in the middle of each row of patterned fabric to stitch the small fabric pieces together into a complete cushion surface. Finally, complete the cushion making. Combine the stitched cushion surface with filling materials such as sponge or cotton, and sew the edges. A patchwork cushion is now ready and can be placed on an office chair as a back cushion.
Making a supportive back cushion from old cotton pants: The first step is to select materials. Choose old cotton pants that are no longer worn, as this material is comfortable and breathable. Then, cut and sew. Cut off the two legs of the pants and sew them together to form a cylindrical sleeve with a diameter of about 15 cm. Next, prepare the filling. It is recommended to use buckwheat hulls, or you can mix buckwheat hulls with latex pillow scraps in a 1:2 ratio. This will make the cushion both supportive and soft. After that, fill the sleeve. Evenly distribute the filling into the cylindrical sleeve and then sew the ends shut. You can also add some decorations according to your personal preference, such as bows or embroidery, to make the cushion more personalized.
Incorporating a back cushion in the overall making of an office chair: When making an office chair, start with frame construction. Weld and polish the back cushion and armrests in a similar way to the base frame. Then, make the outer parts. Use black leather to create the outer parts. Place the plastic templates of the back cushion, armrests, and other components on top of the leather and cut out the leather with a utility knife. Next, handle the seat cushion and backrest. Glue the cut leather onto a harder foam cushion and cut out a slightly larger foam pad for making the seat cushion and backrest of the office chair. Finally, complete the installation of the back cushion. Cut a softer, fluffy foam pad into connected rectangles, mark them on the leather, and then pleat and sew them to form the basic shape of the leather surface of the seat backrest. Insert the back cushion into the designated position.
