Gongyi Office Chair Installation
Admin October 13, 2026
The installation steps for a regular office chair are as follows:

I. Inventory of Parts and Accessories Before installation, carefully check all parts and accessories to ensure they are complete and undamaged. The components of a regular office chair include: 5 casters, 1 pneumatic lift rod, 1 five-star base, 1 control mechanism tray, and 1 seat. Some models may also come with additional armrests, backrests, or a screw pack, which should be confirmed according to the instruction manual.
II. Installing the Tray and Seat
- Turn the seat upside down so that the bottom is facing up. Locate the fixing screws beneath the seat cushion (usually 4-6 screws) and remove them all using a screwdriver.
- Align the control mechanism tray with the mounting holes on the bottom of the seat cushion and re-fix it with the original screws. Ensure that the tray is tightly connected to the seat without any looseness or misalignment.
III. Installing the Casters and Five-Star Base
- Place the five-star base flat on the ground, ensuring that all five ends are facing upwards.
- Insert the casters one by one into each end of the five-star base. Listen for a 'click' sound to confirm that the casters are securely in place and will not fall off.
- Gently shake the five-star base to check the stability of the casters and ensure that all casters make even contact with the ground.
IV. Connecting the Pneumatic Lift Rod to the Seat
- Insert the thicker end of the pneumatic lift rod with holes vertically into the center hole of the five-star base, ensuring it is fully inserted and does not wobble.
- Align the seat with the installed tray with the thinner end of the pneumatic lift rod and slowly press it down to the bottom. A 'click' sound indicates successful connection.
- If the seat comes with armrests, install them after connecting the lift rod: align the armrests with the reserved holes on both sides of the seat and fix them with the provided screws, ensuring symmetry on both sides.
V. Functional Testing and Safety Inspection
- Slowly sit on the chair and evenly distribute your weight to check if the five-star base is stable and if the casters rotate smoothly.
- Operate the handle of the control mechanism to test if the seat height adjustment function works properly. The lifting process should be smooth without any stuttering.
- Repeatedly shake the seat to check for any looseness in the connecting parts (such as the tray and armrests) and ensure that all screws are tightened.
Precautions:
- Avoid using excessive force during installation to prevent damage or deformation of the parts.
- If the screw holes do not match, check if the parts are installed incorrectly or if the model is wrong.
- Choose a regular product for the pneumatic rod to avoid the risk of explosion caused by using inferior rods.
