Fixed Ordinary Office Chair

Admin October 11, 2026

The installation process of a fixed ordinary office chair typically includes the following steps:

Step 1: Install the five-star base and wheels
The five-star base is the supporting foundation of the office chair, usually made of plastic or metal. When installing, align the wheels with the slots on the five-star base and press firmly to ensure the wheels are fully embedded. Some wheels may have locking mechanisms that need to be adjusted to a slidable state according to the instructions. This step requires ensuring that the five-star base is placed steadily to prevent the chair from wobbling due to loose wheel installation.

Step 2: Prepare the seat cushion and install the armrests
Place the seat cushion face-up on a flat surface for easy subsequent operations. When installing the armrests, pay attention to left-right symmetry. Usually, three screws are used to fix each side (some models may use No. 3 screws to fix the armrests to the frame). Align the holes on the armrests with those on the seat cushion during installation, and tighten the screws one by one with a screwdriver to avoid omissions or looseness. If the armrests have adjustable functions (such as height or angle), perform preliminary adjustments before fixing them.

Step 3: Secure the backrest and gas lift
The backrest is usually connected to the seat cushion through a tray. Align the bottom of the backrest with the slots on the tray and press firmly until you hear a 'click' sound, indicating that the buckle is in place. The gas lift is the core component connecting the five-star base and the seat cushion. When installing, insert the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the five-star base, then align the hole at the bottom of the seat cushion with the top of the gas lift and press down slowly to ensure the gas lift is fully embedded. Some chairs may require rotating the seat cushion to activate the lifting function of the gas lift.

Step 4: Overall inspection and adjustment
After installation, check that all screws are tightened, the wheels rotate smoothly, and the backrest and armrests are stable. Test the chair's functions by lifting and lowering the gas lift and adjusting the backrest angle. If wobbling or abnormal noises are detected, recheck the tightness of the screws or the alignment of the components.

Precautions:

  • The screw models and operational details may vary depending on the chair model. Read the instructions carefully before installation.
  • Avoid using excessive force during assembly to prevent damage to plastic parts or threads.
  • If the chair has a headrest, it should be fixed separately after the backrest is installed, usually through buckles or screws.
  • It is recommended to choose a soft surface (such as a carpet) for installation to prevent hard objects from scratching the chair or the floor.
