Deli Office Chair Casters

The fixed structure types and disassembly methods of Deli office chair casters are as follows:

Deli office chair casters mainly have two types of fixed structures: **snap-ring casters (screw-free) ** and screw-port casters (screw-fixed), and their disassembly methods vary depending on the structure.

Disassembly Method for Snap-Ring Casters

Snap-ring casters are directly inserted into the axle hole of the footrest with a metal snap ring, and there are no screws at the interface. The disassembly steps are as follows:

  1. Tool-Assisted Method:
    • Use needle-nose pliers to grip the metal bushing or plastic part connecting the top of the caster to the base of the five-star footrest. Using the edge of the five-star footrest as a fulcrum, forcefully pry outward and rotate the caster counterclockwise. If the external plastic sleeve of the caster separates from the internal metal axle, repeat the prying and rotating actions until the axle is completely removed.
    • If the caster is too tight, you can use a rubber mallet to gently tap the side or connection point of the caster to loosen the snap ring through vibration.
  2. Manual Disassembly Method:
    • Hold the footrest with one hand and gently press down on the caster axle with the other hand while pulling it outward, using the recoil force of the snap ring to loosen it. Maintain balanced pressure forward and backward during the operation to avoid bending the snap ring by pulling too hard.
    • If manual disassembly is difficult, you can use a thin pair of tweezers, the tip of an old key, or a flat-head screwdriver to press against the inner side of the snap ring through the side gap of the caster. At the same time, support the footrest and pull the caster downward to remove it.

Disassembly Method for Screw-Port Casters

Screw-port casters have a cross screw in the center of the caster, and in some models, the screw may be covered by a plastic cap that needs to be pried open first. The disassembly steps are as follows:

  1. Use a cross screwdriver to align with the center screw of the caster and unscrew it completely in a counterclockwise direction.
  2. After the screw is removed, hold the caster with your hand and pull it straight upward. If the caster is tight, you can gently shake it left and right to assist in pulling it out.

Handling of Stuck Casters

If the caster is stuck due to foreign object entanglement or rust, follow these steps:

  1. Clear Foreign Objects: Check if the bearing of the caster is entangled with hair, fibers, etc., and use long scissors or bent-head tweezers to clean it.
  2. Tap and Vibrate: Use a rubber mallet to tap the connection point from different angles to loosen the snap ring or screw.
  3. Lubrication Assistance: Drip a small amount of lubricating oil (such as WD-40) into the gap of the metal bushing, wait a moment, and then try to pry or rotate the caster.

Precautions: Avoid using excessive force during the operation to prevent damage to the footrest or caster. If the caster still cannot be disassembled, it is recommended to contact a professional repair technician for handling.
