CIFF On Site: What Is It Like to Camp and Picnic Inside an Expo Hall?
At this year's China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) in Guangzhou, Yihang created a modular dining space called "Green Hills Picnic." The space uses green as its dominant color, combining rugs and greenery into a continuous natural interface that softens the rigid boundaries of the exhibition hall's steel and concrete โ further proving that commercial spaces and natural settings can coexist.

For its partitions, Yihang did away with closed walls, instead using recyclable cardboard boxes and green plants to form a permeable screen, with tie-dyed drapery hanging from the ceiling above. As the spring breeze passes, it creates beautiful, shifting patterns of light and shadow across the fairground, as if you were at a campsite in the hills.

At the center of the dining bar stands the "Baile Oxygen Bar" table, which features grooves for displaying plants and a hidden charging system. Its legs are wrapped in soft, stain-resistant screens that repel dirt and absorb sound while giving the whole dining space room to breathe. The leisure seating arrives in high-saturation colors: coral dining chairs set a striking contrast against metal legs, reinforcing the visual focal point and lending the space an energetic tone.
At Yihang, the function of the dining space is reimagined: light meals and socializing, business talks, and private conversations are all met โ with natural transitions between them โ in this natural setting.
