Chivas Office Chair Disassembly
Admin October 11, 2026
Disassembling a Chivas office chair requires careful operation. Currently, there is no direct disassembly tutorial, but you can refer to the disassembly process of similar furniture and combine it with the product's characteristics. It is recommended to contact the official after-sales service for guidance first.

I. Preparations Before Disassembly
- Tool Preparation: Based on the experience of disassembling similar furniture, you need to prepare tools such as screwdrivers (cross/flat-head), wrenches, Allen wrenches (commonly used for adjusting parts of office chairs), rubber hammers (for separating snap-fit structures), and plastic pry bars (to avoid scratching the chair surface). If the chair has electric functions (such as height adjustment and recline adjustment), disconnect the power supply in advance and check the battery location (some electric chairs have built-in batteries in the base).
- Environment Preparation: Choose a spacious and flat ground surface. Lay down soft cloths or cardboard to prevent parts from getting lost or the chair surface from being scratched. Take photos of the entire chair and the connection points of various parts before disassembly for easy reference during subsequent reassembly.
- Safety Protection: Wear gloves (to prevent fingers from being scratched by metal parts). If the chair has a gas lift rod (commonly used for height adjustment), confirm that it has been fully depressurized (test by slowly pressing down on the seat) to avoid sudden popping and accidents.
II. Disassembly Process Reference (Based on the Logic of Similar Furniture)
- Separate the Seat from the Base: In most office chairs, the seat is connected to the base with screws or snap-fits. Use a screwdriver or an Allen wrench to remove the fixing screws. If it is a snap-fit structure, use a plastic pry bar to gently pry along the gap to separate them.
- Remove the Armrests: The armrests are usually fixed to the backrest or the side of the base with screws. Remove the screws to take them off. Some electric chair armrests may contain control modules. Disconnect the wire connections first (mark the wire end positions for easy reassembly).
- Disassemble the Backrest and the Frame: The backrest and the base frame may be connected with hinges or screws. Remove the fixing parts to separate them. If the backrest has an adjusting mechanism (such as recline angle), pay attention to the disassembly order of the springs or gas lift rods to avoid the springs popping out and causing injuries.
- Handle the Gas Lift Rod and the Five-Star Base: The gas lift rod is a core component of the office chair. When disassembling, use a rubber hammer to gently tap the connection point between the five-star base and the gas lift rod to separate them. If the gas lift rod needs further disassembly (such as replacing internal seals), professional tools are required, and there are safety risks. It is recommended that non-professionals do not perform this operation themselves.
III. Precautions
- Part Management: Store the removed small parts such as screws and snap-fits in categories according to their positions (for example, use small boxes to package and label them) to avoid loss.
- Official Guidance First: Chivas products may have special designs (such as patented connection structures). Be sure to check the instruction manual or contact after-sales service before disassembly to prevent damage or inability to reassemble due to improper operation.
- Reassembly Test: Before reassembly, check that all parts are intact. Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly. After completion, test functions such as height adjustment and recline adjustment to ensure they are normal.
