Cheap Office Chair Installation

Admin October 14, 2026

The installation of a cheap office chair can be carried out according to the following steps:

Step 1: Install the Five-Star Base and Casters
The five-star base is the supporting structure of the office chair. First, place it steadily on the ground. Insert each caster into the assembly holes of the five-star base one by one. Ensure that the casters fit perfectly with the holes to prevent looseness. After installing all five casters, gently shake the five-star base to check if the casters are firmly installed, ensuring they can rotate flexibly and without wobbling during subsequent use.

Step 2: Install the Gas Lift
The gas lift is a crucial component for adjusting the height of the office chair. Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the center hole of the five-star base, place it vertically, and gently press it down to fully insert it. Some installation methods require placing the gas lift into the center hole of the five-star base first, then inserting it into the center hole of the seat base, and then flipping it upright to ensure a tight connection between the gas lift, the five-star base, and the seat base. After installation, test if the gas lift works properly by slightly raising and lowering it.

Step 3: Install the Seat Base and Cushion
The seat base is the component that connects the cushion to the gas lift. Place the seat base on the bottom of the cushion, paying attention to its orientation (usually there are markings or grooves corresponding to the cushion structure). After aligning the screw holes, use a screwdriver to screw in each screw 3 - 4 turns initially to ensure all screws are preliminarily fixed, and then tighten them one by one to prevent misalignment or looseness between the cushion and the seat base. Some steps mention installing 4 long screws on the seat base, which should be adjusted according to the specific structure.

Step 4: Install the Backrest
The installation method of the backrest varies depending on the design. A common method is to align the two sides at the bottom of the backrest with the installation positions on the armrests of the cushion. After inserting it vertically, first fix the bottom of the backrest with screws from the bottom of the armrest brackets, and then align the installation holes at the back of the backrest with those on the cushion brackets, and fix the screws with tools (such as a screwdriver or wrench). Some backrests need to be inserted obliquely into the pins on the seat, and a "click" sound indicates that it is properly latched. Check for stability.

Step 5: Install the Armrests
If the armrests are detachable, press the button below the armrest surface (some armrests have no buttons and can be inserted directly), and align the left and right armrests with the holes on the armrest brackets respectively and insert them vertically to the bottom. Some armrests need to be fixed to the brackets with screws. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws to ensure that the armrests do not wobble and match the height of the cushion and backrest to enhance comfort during use.

Step 6: Install the Headrest
Place the headrest in the middle position at the top of the backrest, and press the installation part of the headrest to make it fit more closely with the backrest to avoid gaps. Thread a screw through the headrest fixing clip to connect the headrest to the backrest. After tightening the screw, check if the headrest can adjust its angle or height (some headrests are of a fixed design). After installation, test the stability of the headrest to ensure safety during use.
