Blended Fabric Office Chair

Admin October 09, 2026

Blended fabric is primarily used in the seat and backrest of office chairs, presented in the form of mesh fabric made from blended yarns. It offers advantages in elasticity, breathability, and cost, with high-end products also adopting a blended combination of breathable cotton and mesh.

The composition of blended fabric mainly consists of nylon and polyester, typically blended in a ratio of 70% nylon and 30% polyester. This combination balances the elasticity of nylon and the cost-effectiveness of polyester: nylon provides high elasticity, preventing plastic deformation of the mesh fabric during long-term use; polyester reduces overall material costs through its low-cost characteristics while maintaining durability. This ratio is a common choice for mesh fabric in mid-to-high-end office chairs, meeting both functional requirements and cost control needs.

Elastic performance is one of the core advantages of blended mesh fabric. High-elastic nylon blends can achieve a rebound rate of over 95%, returning to flatness within 1 second after pressing and maintaining seat flatness over long-term use, avoiding sagging issues caused by material fatigue. This characteristic ensures stable performance in office scenarios requiring frequent use, extending the chair's lifespan.

Breathability design is achieved through process optimization. Warp-knitted blended mesh fabric employs zoned knitting techniques, such as denser knitting in the back area for support and sparser knitting in the waist area for enhanced breathability. This design balances the support needs of different body parts with air circulation requirements, making it particularly suitable for long-duration sitting in office environments by reducing heat buildup and improving comfort.

High-end office chairs also adopt a blended combination of breathable cotton and mesh fabric. Breathable cotton provides a sponge-like wrapping sensation, enhancing the fit between the seat and the body; mesh fabric maintains breathability, avoiding the heat accumulation issues common with traditional sponge materials. Although this combination comes at a higher price, it integrates the advantages of both materials, catering to users with higher comfort demands or premium office settings.

Overall, blended fabric achieves a balance between functionality and economy in office chairs through material ratio optimization and process design, making it the mainstream choice in the current market.
