Backrest Office Chair Installation

Admin October 12, 2026

The installation steps for a backrest office chair can be divided into three stages: general process, specific model detail handling, and inspection. Details are as follows:

I. General Assembly Process

  1. Component Inspection and Sorting
After unpacking, check all parts, including the seat, backrest, chair legs (five-star or bow-shaped), screw pack (containing screws of different sizes, nuts, washers), armrests, footrests (if any), and electric function components (if any). Ensure nothing is missing or damaged, then sort them by size for easy access later.

  2. Connecting Chair Legs to Seat

    • Five-star Leg Style: Align the center hole of the chair legs with the connector on the bottom of the seat, insert, and secure with matching screws (usually M8 or M10 thick screws). Some may require direct pressing and locking with clips.
    • Bow-shaped Leg Style: First assemble the crossbar with the legs using thick screws (e.g., 825). Do not fully tighten the screws on both sides to allow for minor adjustments. Use the remaining short, thin screws (618) to secure the connection points between the seat and the crossbar.
  3. Backrest Installation
Align the bottom of the backrest with the screw holes on the back of the seat, insert each screw, and initially tighten them (it is recommended to manually screw them in first to avoid slipping). If the backrest supports angle adjustment, ensure the adjustment mechanism (such as a gas lift or mechanical clip) is correctly embedded in the corresponding slot on the seat before fully securing the screws.

  4. Connecting Electric Function Components (if any)
For chairs with electric massage or height adjustment functions, align and insert the wire plugs between the backrest and the seat, ensuring no tangling or squeezing of the wires. Some models require installing the control panel first, then connecting the power cord.

  5. Installing Detail Components
When installing armrests, align them with the holes on both sides of the seat and secure them with long, thin screws (e.g., 6*30). Attach the footrest to the bottom of the seat using clips or screws. It is recommended to tighten all screws in stages (initially secure them, then uniformly tighten them at the end) to avoid excessive local stress causing part deformation.

II. Installation Details for Specific Models

  • Crossbar Hole Handling: Some chairs require placing nut shavings in the crossbar holes (to increase thread grip), then connecting the side frames with bolt shavings to complete the frame assembly. Finally, secure the bottom crossbar and install the backrest.
  • Screw Torque Control: The thick screws on both sides of the crossbar of bow-shaped leg chairs should not be too tight, as this may cause uneven stress on the legs. The wire connections of electric function chairs should be wrapped with insulating tape to prevent short circuits.

III. Inspection and Adjustment

  1. Stability Test: After installation, sit on the chair and gently shake it back and forth and side to side to check if the chair legs are stable and free of unusual noises.
  2. Function Adjustment: Adjust the backrest angle, height adjustment gas lift (if any), and electric functions to ensure smooth movement of all parts. When rotating the chair, check if the wheels (or chair legs) are flexible and free of jamming.
  3. Loose Screw Tightening: If any screws are found to be loose, retighten them. If there are abnormalities with the electric functions, first check the wire connections and contact after-sales service if necessary.

Tip: For chairs with complex structures (such as those with massage devices or smart systems), it is recommended to refer to the product manual first or use official video tutorials to assist with installation to avoid damaging parts due to improper operation.
