818 Office Chair Installation

Admin October 09, 2026

The installation steps for the 818 office chair are as follows:

Step 1: Install the Chair Wheels
Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-claw base one by one. While inserting, sway left and right and press firmly to ensure each wheel is fully embedded in the hole and does not loosen. If the wheels are not tightly connected to the base, it may cause wobbling or detachment during use, affecting safety.

Step 2: Secure the Gas Lift
Flip the five-claw base so that the front side faces up. Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the center hole of the five-claw base, place it vertically, and press down gently to ensure a firm connection between the gas lift and the base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height. During installation, check that it is vertical to avoid abnormal lifting and lowering functions due to tilting.

Step 3: Install the Seat Base and Cushion
Place the seat base on the bottom of the cushion, paying attention to the orientation of the base (usually, there will be markings or grooves on the base that correspond to the cushion). After aligning the four screw holes, use a screwdriver to tighten the screws one by one. Ensure that the screws are fully screwed in and do not loosen, otherwise, the unstable connection between the base and the cushion may cause the seat to wobble or be damaged.

Step 4: Connect the Tray to the Gas Lift
Connect the base with the installed cushion to the gas lift by inserting the thinner end of the gas lift into the center hole of the base. At this time, pay special attention to the orientation of the tray: The tray handle must be located below the right armrest. If the orientation is incorrect, the seat adjustment functions, such as backrest tilting or lifting and lowering, will not work properly.

Step 5: Overall Inspection and Adjustment
After installation is complete, flip the seat to the front side and check that all components are firmly connected (such as whether the chair wheels rotate flexibly, whether the gas lift lifts and lowers smoothly, and whether the tray handle functions normally). If any abnormalities are found, recheck the installation of the corresponding steps, such as whether the screws are tightened and whether the components are aligned.

Precautions:

  1. Avoid using excessive force during installation, especially when connecting the chair wheels and the gas lift. Excessive force may damage the components.
  2. If the seat is equipped with armrests, tighten the armrest screws separately after installing the cushion to ensure a firm connection with the base or tray.
  3. Before the first use, it is recommended to test the lifting and lowering functions of the gas lift and the backrest adjustment functions multiple times to ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise before normal use.
