How to Use a Good Ergonomic Office Chair in Zhejiang

Admin October 08, 2026

Here's how to use a good ergonomic office chair in Zhejiang:

1. Backrest Recline Adjustment

After sitting in the chair, locate the adjustment lever under the right armrest. Pull the lever, lean back slightly with your back to the desired angle, and release the lever to secure it. To return to an upright position, pull the lever again and lean forward slightly; the backrest will automatically spring back. For some models, the flat-back function is achieved through a pull rod under the right armrest. Maintain balance while operating to avoid sudden backward tilting and loss of center of gravity.

2. Forward and Backward Rocking Adjustment

There is usually a black cylindrical knob in front of the chair's gas lift. Turn it left or right to adjust the rocking range. Turning it clockwise reduces the rocking range, while turning it counterclockwise increases it, suitable for different scenarios (such as focused work or relaxation). Ensure the chair is stable during adjustment to prevent tipping due to excessive range.

3. Healthy Sitting Posture

  • Seat Height: Adjust the gas lift so that your feet are flat on the ground, with your thighs and calves at a 95ยฐ-100ยฐ angle. If the chair is too high and your feet are suspended, use a footrest; if it's too low, it will increase pressure on your knees, which should be avoided.
  • Sitting Angle: Lean back slightly to a 100ยฐ-110ยฐ angle, ensuring your lower back fits snugly against the backrest. If there is a lumbar support, adjust it to support the natural curve of your lumbar spine and reduce fatigue from prolonged sitting.
  • Armrest Height: Adjust it so that when your elbows hang naturally, your forearms can rest easily on the armrests or desk, with the angle between your upper and lower arms close to 100ยฐ, avoiding stiffness in your shoulders and neck.
  • Monitor Height: Use a stand to elevate the monitor so that your eyes are level with the top edge of the screen, preventing your head from leaning forward and increasing pressure on your cervical spine.

4. Suggestions for Regular Movement

Perform simple stretches every 30 minutes:

  • Hip Stretch: Sit on the edge of the chair, spread your feet apart, cross your ankles over to the opposite knee, and press your back forward.
  • Lower Back Release: Lean to the side and hold onto the chair back, gently twisting your body.
  • Shoulder Opening Exercise: Raise your hands over your head and lean to the opposite side, or hold onto the chair back with both hands behind you to stretch your shoulders.

Precautions: Operate the adjustment functions slowly to avoid excessive force. After long-term use, check if the screws are loose to ensure stability. Proper use can enhance comfort and prevent musculoskeletal disorders.
