Xinle Office Chair Testing

Admin October 12, 2026

Xinle office chair testing mainly covers multiple dimensions such as mechanical properties, safety protection, and environmental protection. Based on the QB/T 2280 - 2016 industry standard, there are more than 20 core testing items. The specific testing content and procedures are as follows:

I. Testing Items and Scope

  1. Mechanical Property Testing: This includes strength tests such as static load on the seat surface, horizontal load on the chair back, and load-bearing capacity of the armrests, as well as fatigue tests like the combined durability of the seat and back and the rolling life of the casters. For example, by simulating long-term usage scenarios, it verifies the deformation recovery ability of the seat surface under continuous pressure or the wear condition of the casters after a certain number of rolls.
  2. Safety Performance Testing: It focuses on evaluating stability (e.g., tipping tests), the safety of the pneumatic rod (to prevent explosion risks), flame retardancy (the combustion grade of the fabric), and the compliance of key dimensions (seat height, seat depth, back height). For example, the tipping test ensures that the chair will not tip over when tilted at a certain angle, and the pneumatic rod must pass pressure resistance tests to avoid safety hazards.
  3. Environmental Indicator Testing: It tests the release amount of TVOC (total volatile organic compounds) to ensure that the materials comply with environmental protection standards and reduce potential harm to human health.
  4. Material Property Testing: This covers the wear resistance of the casters, rolling resistance, and the corrosion resistance of metal components. For example, after the casters roll a certain distance on a simulated road surface, their wear degree is checked to see if it affects usage.

II. Testing Equipment and Tools

  1. Core Equipment: A multi-functional office chair testing machine (used for seat-back durability loading and stability testing), a caster wear testing machine (to simulate long-term rolling wear), and a flame retardancy testing instrument (to evaluate the flame retardancy grade of the fabric).
  2. Auxiliary Tools: Weights (to apply specified loads), steel tapes and height gauges (for dimension measurement), a tilting platform (for stability testing), a force gauge (for rolling resistance testing), and an ambient temperature and humidity recorder (to control testing conditions).

III. Testing Procedures and Standards

  1. Sample Pre-treatment: Before testing, the samples should be placed in an environment with specified temperature and humidity until they reach a stable state, and all measuring instruments should be calibrated and zeroed.
  2. Testing Sequence: Non-destructive inspections (such as dimension measurement) should be carried out first, followed by stability testing, and then strength and durability testing in sequence.
  3. Data Recording: The initial state, testing conditions, applied forces or number of cycles, testing phenomena, and final results should be recorded in detail to ensure that the data is objective, accurate, and traceable.
  4. Standard Basis: The domestic core standards are the GB/T2280 series (e.g., for dimensions and functional requirements), GB/T 3324 - 2017 (for wooden furniture), and GB/T 3325 - 2017 (for metal furniture); the commonly used international standards include ISO 7173 (for stability testing), ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 (for general testing), and EN 1335 (for dimensions and functional requirements).

Through systematic testing, the quality and safety of office chairs can be comprehensively evaluated, providing reliable protection for consumers.
