Fixation of Writing and Office Chairs

Admin October 09, 2026

The fixation of writing or office chairs requires step-by-step installation by component, with core steps including the fixation of chair wheels, gas lift cylinders, bases, backrests, armrests, and headrests. Specific operations should be adjusted according to the model's parts list.

  1. Chair Wheel Fixation
Chair wheels are the basic components for chair movement. During installation, align the metal shaft or plastic clip of each chair wheel with the assembly holes at the bottom of the five-star base, and press down vertically until fully embedded. Some chair wheels require rotation to lock. After installation, check for stability to prevent loosening and detachment during use.

  2. Gas Lift Cylinder Installation
The gas lift cylinder is responsible for adjusting the chair's height. During installation, align the thicker end (usually with a metal base) with the center hole of the five-star base, place it vertically, and press lightly until fully inserted. Before installation, confirm that the gas lift cylinder's specifications match the chair model to avoid instability or inability to adjust the height due to size mismatch.

  3. Base and Seat Cushion Fixation
The base is the core component connecting the gas lift cylinder and the seat cushion. During installation, place it on the bottom of the seat cushion and align it with the reserved screw holes (usually four). Use the matching screws (such as B screws) to screw them in one by one. First, screw them in 3-4 turns to ensure all screws are initially fixed, then tighten them one by one until they cannot wobble. Pay attention to the screw specifications in this step to avoid loosening due to mixed use.

  4. Backrest Fixation
Backrest installation requires two steps: First, align the bottom sides of the backrest with the installation holes of the seat cushion armrests and insert them vertically until the bottom touches the seat cushion support; second, use two C screws to fix the bottom of the backrest from the bottom of the armrest support, and then use a D screw to lock the backrest and seat cushion support with a wrench (some models require cross-tightening to enhance stability). After installation, check if the backrest is vertical to avoid affecting comfort due to tilting.

  5. Armrest Fixation
Armrest installation methods vary by model: Some armrests require pressing the button below the surface to insert the armrests into the support holes until the clips lock; some require using a No. 3 screw to fix the frame from the side or bottom of the armrests. During installation, ensure the armrests are level to avoid discomfort in arm support due to uneven heights.

  6. Headrest Fixation
Headrest installation requires aligning its bottom with the slot in the middle of the top of the backrest, inserting it vertically, and then tightening it with two E screws through the fixed clips. Some headrests support angle adjustment. After installation, test if the adjustment function works properly.

Precautions: Before installation, check the parts list (such as screw specifications and tool types) to avoid interruptions due to missing parts; during installation, follow the instructions in order to avoid structural instability caused by skipping steps; after completion, conduct a comprehensive check to ensure all components are secure and ensure safety during use.
