Where is the Backrest of the Office Chair Fixed

Admin October 08, 2026

The backrest of an office chair is usually fixed at the installation positions on both sides of the armrests of the seat cushion and on the seat cushion frame, and some models are fixed on the tray.

Fixed at the Installation Positions on Both Sides of the Armrests of the Seat Cushion and on the Seat Cushion Frame

This is a relatively common fixing method. First, precisely align the two sides at the bottom of the backrest with the installation positions on both sides of the armrests of the seat cushion, and then insert it. During this process, two C-screws are required, and the operation is carried out from the bottom of the armrest bracket to firmly fix the bottom of the backrest. This step of fixing ensures the connection stability between the bottom of the backrest and the armrests on both sides of the seat cushion, laying a foundation for further subsequent fixing.

After fixing the bottom of the backrest, proceed to fix the rear part of the backrest to the seat cushion frame. Carefully align the installation holes of the rear part of the backrest and the seat cushion frame. This step requires a certain amount of patience and care to ensure that the installation holes fit perfectly. Then, use two wrenches to lock and fix the backrest and the seat cushion frame with D-screws. Using two wrenches ensures that both sides are evenly stressed when tightening the screws, preventing the screws from being twisted or not being firmly fixed. In this way, the backrest and the seat cushion frame are tightly connected to form a stable overall structure, providing reliable support for the user.

Fixed on the Tray

There is also a relatively simple fixing method. First, snap the backrest into the tray. Pay attention to whether the snapping position between the backrest and the tray is accurate to ensure that the backrest can be firmly snapped into the tray. After snapping the backrest and the tray together, insert the assembled chair into the gas lift. The gas lift plays an important role in adjusting the height of the office chair. After inserting the chair into the gas lift, the structure of the entire office chair is basically assembled, and the backrest is also fixed on the chair through the connection between the tray and the gas lift. This fixing method is relatively common in some office chairs with a simpler design.
