Verus Office Chair
Admin October 09, 2026
The Verus office chair is an ergonomic chair under the Herman Miller brand, with generally average overall adjustment functions and both highlights and shortcomings in terms of seating comfort.

Adjustment Functions
- Headrest: The headrest only supports vertical adjustment, and the operation process is not smooth enough. This to some extent restricts users from making flexible adjustments according to their own needs, making it difficult to meet the precise requirements for headrest position among people with different heights and sitting habits.
- Backrest: The backrest has a fixed design and cannot be adjusted. This means it cannot change the backrest angle according to different usage scenarios and body states of users, such as sitting upright for work or leaning back for rest, to provide more fitting support.
- Lumbar Support: The lumbar support can be adjusted vertically, but the contact surface is made of hard plastic and has a relatively small area. The hard plastic material may cause discomfort to the waist during long-term use, and the small contact surface cannot provide comprehensive and sufficient support for the waist.
- Armrests: The armrest surface and the armrest support adopt a split structure, with a decent but not outstanding texture. Moreover, the armrests cannot be rotated at an angle and do not have a linkage function. During use, they cannot be flexibly adjusted according to the natural movements of the arms, reducing the convenience of use.
- Base: The base uses physical switches. The circular adjustment knob is used to open the backrest recline limit, with four different recline angles from first gear to fourth gear available for selection. However, as an office chair, when used for home leisure, its recline angle may not meet the needs of users for a more relaxed state. In addition, the operation of the height adjustment switch requires bending over. The seat depth adjustment is a wired switch. After pulling it out, there is no spring placed, and it requires the effort of the buttocks to push it back, and it slides back tightly. These designs all bring certain inconveniences to the operation.
Seating Experience
- Waist and Back Fit: It performs well in terms of waist and back fit. When sitting upright, it can provide good support for the waist and back, and the mesh design can offer a decent sense of enclosure, allowing users to feel a certain level of comfort during use.
- Shoulder and Neck Fit: However, there are shortcomings in terms of shoulder and neck fit. The headrest mainly supports the back of the head and cannot reach the neck. This makes it difficult for the neck to receive effective support during long-term use, and it is prone to fatigue.
