Traditional Adjustable Office Chair

Admin October 22, 2026

The traditional adjustable office chair is a functional office swivel chair that adjusts the height of the seat plate through a lifting and positioning device, conforming to ergonomic principles. Its core design, functional features, and safety precautions are as follows:

Core Components and Adjustment Principles
The traditional adjustable office chair consists of a seat plate, backrest, frame, frame rocker arm, lifting and positioning device, and chair legs. Height adjustment is achieved through a pneumatic rod (pneumatic cylinder). Pneumatic adjustable chairs use the compression and release of a high-pressure nitrogen gas cylinder for smooth lifting, hydraulic chairs rely on pressure principles to control height, and mechanical chairs adjust through gear or threaded structures. Among them, pneumatic chairs have become mainstream due to their convenient operation and moderate cost, but attention should be paid to the impact of pneumatic rod quality on safety.

Ergonomic Design Advantages

  1. Support and Pressure Distribution: The backrest fits the natural curve of the spine, and with adjustable lumbar support, armrests, and headrests, it effectively supports the lower back, neck, and arms, reducing fatigue from prolonged sitting. For example, high-quality ergonomic swivel chairs support multi-dimensional adjustments such as seat height, backrest tilt angle, seat depth, armrest height, and angle to accommodate different body types and usage scenarios.
  2. Blood Circulation Optimization: The seat cushion adopts a waterfall curve design that slopes downward at the front, reducing pressure on the back of the thighs. The high-elastic mesh fabric material is breathable and has moderate softness and hardness, evenly distributing pressure on the buttocks, promoting blood circulation, and reducing numbness caused by prolonged sitting.

Material and Type Selection

  1. Material Differences: Mid-to-high-end products mostly use high-elastic mesh fabric, which balances breathability and support. Low-end products may use sponge or ordinary fabric, which has poor breathability and is prone to deformation.
  2. Type Comparison: Pneumatic adjustable chairs have smooth lifting, but it is necessary to avoid using inferior pneumatic rods (such as those with insufficient nitrogen purity or thin tube walls). Hydraulic chairs have slower lifting speeds but higher stability. Mechanical chairs have a simple structure but lower adjustment precision.

Safety Usage Precautions

  1. Pneumatic Rod Risks: Inferior pneumatic rods may explode due to impure internal gases or thin tube walls. When purchasing, choose products with safety certifications such as SGS and TUV, and confirm whether the chair bottom is equipped with an explosion-proof steel plate.
  2. Usage Specifications: Avoid frequent lifting (no more than 50 times per day), overloading (usually with a weight limit of 120kg), or disassembling the pneumatic rod by yourself to reduce safety hazards.
  3. Maintenance Recommendations: Regularly check the sealing of the pneumatic rod. If air leakage, lifting stuttering, or abnormal noises are found, stop using it immediately and contact after-sales service.
