Telescopic Office Chair Installation
Admin October 16, 2026
The installation of a telescopic office chair should follow standardized procedures, with core steps including pre-installation preparation, core installation, post-installation adjustment and testing, and attention to special issue handling.

Pre-installation Preparation
- Tool Preparation: You will need a Phillips/flat-head screwdriver, an adjustable wrench or socket wrench, a spirit level, and optionally a rubber mallet for tapping.
- Environment Inspection: Choose a flat and sturdy floor, ensuring sufficient lighting and ample working space to prevent chair wobbling or damage due to uneven ground.
- Component Inventory: After unpacking, check that all screws, connectors, brackets, etc., are present and inspect for any shipping damage. Contact after-sales service promptly if any items are missing or damaged.
Core Installation Steps
- Assemble the Main Frame: Take out the metal frame components such as chair legs and support beams. Identify the positions of the parts according to the instructions and connect them temporarily with screws or clips, leaving the screws loose for later adjustment.
- Install the Base or Fixed Bracket: If the chair needs to be fixed to the floor (e.g., for a commode chair), use a spirit level to ensure the base is level before securing it. For non-drilling installation, peel off the adhesive backing of the fixing plate, stick it to a clean and dry tiled floor, and press firmly, leaving it undisturbed for at least 24 hours.
- Connect the Armrests and Backrest: Align the armrests and backrest with the mounting holes on the main frame, insert the screws for preliminary fixation, ensuring the armrests are slightly angled upwards for ergonomic comfort.
- Install the Gas Lift: The gas spring piston rod must be installed facing downwards; reverse installation is strictly prohibited. Insert it vertically into the compression pump sleeve at the bottom of the seat, align it, and tighten the fixing cap. Avoid subjecting the gas lift to tilting or lateral forces during installation and use. Do not expose it to heat, strike it, disassemble it privately, or apply paint.
- Install the Seat Cushion and Accessories: Attach functional accessories such as the seat cushion and backrest to their respective positions. For a commode chair, secure the splash guard onto the squat toilet using the sealing ring to prevent leaks.
- Overall Tightening and Inspection: Gradually tighten all screws in a diagonal sequence. After completion, observe if the structure is upright and gently shake to check for any looseness.
Post-installation Adjustment and Testing
- Height Adjustment: Adjust to a comfortable height by pressing the adjustment ball on the chair leg tube or using the gas lift control.
- Function Testing: Test whether functions such as telescoping and rotation work properly and check if the gas lift raises and lowers smoothly.
Special Issue Handling
If the chair sinks, refer to the following repair methods:
- Use a Hose Clamp: Wrap a hose clamp around the gas cylinder, secure it by rotating the screw, and adjust to the appropriate height before tightening.
- Use PVC Pipe: Measure the diameter of the gas cylinder, purchase a matching PVC pipe and split it lengthwise, then fit it over the gas cylinder and secure it, but bear the risks yourself.
