Disassembly of Telescopic Office Chairs

Admin October 17, 2026

The disassembly of telescopic office chairs requires selecting the appropriate method based on the specific structure. Common types include telescopic rod types and hydraulic rod types, with the specific steps outlined below:

I. Disassembly Method for Telescopic Rod-Type Office Chairs

  1. Tool Preparation
Prepare a wrench, screwdriver, gloves, and lubricant. The wrench is used for removing screws, the screwdriver for loosening connecting components, gloves for protecting hand safety, and lubricant for reducing disassembly resistance.

  2. Disassembly Steps

    • Separation of Seat and Telescopic Rod: Place the chair on a stable surface, use the wrench to remove the screws connecting the telescopic rod to the seat base, then use the screwdriver to loosen the fixed structure between the seat and the telescopic rod, and remove the telescopic rod from the seat.
    • Separation of Backrest and Telescopic Rod (if applicable): If the telescopic rod is also connected to the backrest, use the wrench to remove the connecting screws between the backrest and the telescopic rod, then remove the telescopic rod.
    • Lubrication Assistance: Before disassembly, apply lubricant to the surface of the telescopic rod to reduce friction between components and facilitate operation.
  3. Precautions

    • Before disassembly, consult the user manual to confirm the specific structure and operating steps to avoid damage caused by incorrect disassembly.
    • Wear gloves during operation to prevent scratches; keep the chair balanced to avoid tipping due to a shift in the center of gravity.
    • Store the disassembled parts in categories to prevent loss or damage, which could affect subsequent reassembly.

II. Disassembly Method for Hydraulic Rod-Type Lifting Chairs

  1. Tool Preparation
Prepare a rubber mallet, pry bar, and flat-head screwdriver. The rubber mallet is used for tapping to separate components, the pry bar for removing screws, and the flat-head screwdriver for assisting in prying open retaining clips.

  2. Disassembly Steps

    • Base Separation: Turn the chair upside down and place it upside down, use the rubber mallet to tap evenly around the base steel ring to loosen the base from the chair body, then pry the base to separate it completely.
    • Removal of Upper Seat Screws: After removing the base, use the pry bar to remove the fixed screws on the upper seat to provide space for subsequent operations.
    • Separation of Hydraulic Rod: Hold the hydraulic rod, step on the metal base with your foot, and use the rubber mallet to tap the edge of the base to separate the rod from the base. If further disassembly is required, use the flat-head screwdriver to pry off the retaining clip in the middle of the base to separate the lifter from the base.
  3. Precautions

    • Avoid using a metal hammer for tapping to prevent damage to the paint surface or leaving dents, which could affect aesthetics and service life.
    • Pay attention to the direction of force during operation to prevent components from flying out and causing injury, especially since the hydraulic rod may contain high pressure internally and should be handled with caution.

Summary: The disassembly of telescopic office chairs requires selecting the appropriate method based on the structural type. Telescopic rod types are primarily connected with screws, and the focus should be on handling the fixed parts; hydraulic rod types require tapping to separate the base from the rod. It is recommended to wear protective gear before operation and refer to the user manual or product instructions to ensure safety and efficiency.
