Teacher Office Chair Dimensions

Admin October 14, 2026

The common dimensions of teacher office chairs are 570mm×570mm×900mm, but the specific choice should be comprehensively considered in combination with functional adjustment requirements and the compatibility with office desks.

I. Basic Dimensional Parameters

The basic dimensions of teacher office chairs typically focus on seat width, depth, and overall height. For example, a certain office chair has a seat size of 570mm (width) × 570mm (depth) and an overall height of 900mm. Such dimensions are designed based on ergonomic principles. The seat width should meet the shoulder width requirements of adults (generally ≥500mm), while the depth should be adjustable to accommodate the leg support needs of users with different body types (usually adjustable from 340mm to 540mm). If the seat is too narrow or shallow, it may cause the user's legs to hang in the air during prolonged sitting. Conversely, if it is too wide or deep, it may compress the blood vessels behind the knees, affecting blood circulation.

II. Height Adjustment and Compatibility

The height adjustment function of office chairs is a crucial parameter. Ideally, the chair height should form a reasonable difference with the office desk height: when the user sits upright, the desk height should be level with the elbows (approximately 740-780mm) to avoid arm suspension or excessive elevation. For example, a common office desk size is 1.2 meters (length) × 0.6 meters (width) × 0.78 meters (height). In this case, the seat height of the accompanying office chair should be adjustable within the range of 450-550mm (achieved through a gas lift) to ensure that when the user's feet are flat on the ground, the thighs are parallel to the ground. If the chair height is fixed or the adjustment range is insufficient, it may lead to cervical and lumbar fatigue.

III. Extended Requirements for Functional Adjustment

In addition to basic height adjustment, teacher office chairs should have a seat depth adjustment function (flexibly adjustable from 340mm to 540mm) to meet the leg support needs of users with different heights. For example, users under 170cm in height may need to adjust the seat depth to 340-400mm to avoid pressure on the back of the knees, while users over 180cm in height may need to adjust it to 500-540mm to ensure full thigh support. Additionally, some high-end office chairs are equipped with armrest height and angle adjustment functions to further reduce shoulder pressure, but these functions should be selected based on budget and usage scenarios.

IV. The Relationship Between Material and Comfort

Dimensional design should be coordinated with material characteristics. For example, a seat cushion made of high-density one-time molded foam (density ≥45KG/m³) can provide sufficient support even with a relatively shallow seat depth (such as 340mm) through its resilience (50%), preventing collapse after long-term use. For leather upholstery, the curvature of the chair surface and its fit with the human body curve should be considered. A too-flat chair surface may cause concentrated pressure on the contact area, leading to discomfort.
