Swan Office Chair
The Swan Office Chair is an office and leisure chair with a unique design, innovative manufacturing technology, and a variety of styles.
Design Background and Inspiration
The Swan Chair was designed by Danish designer Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The design inspiration comes from swans. Its appearance features smooth lines and a sculptural aesthetic. The curves of the armrests and backrest mimic the body shape of a swan, with a flowing and elegant form that has a strong sense of sculpture and organic modeling language.
Manufacturing Technology Features
- Chair Body Structure: The chair body is entirely composed of curved surfaces, with no straight lines visible. The structure is molded using synthetic materials. The seat shell is molded from fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), filled with high-density cold-cured foam (polyurethane foam) inside, and covered with high-quality fabric or leather on the surface.
- Base Design: The base is a rotatable star-shaped aluminum base, allowing the chair to tilt slightly with the user's body.
- Ergonomics: The curve of the backrest provides good support, conforming to ergonomics, offering a comfortable and secure sitting experience. Its volume is relatively smaller than that of the Egg Chair, with weaker enveloping feel and a larger flat-spreading area, making it suitable for smaller spaces.
