Su-style Office Chair

Among Su-style office chairs, the Su-style Southern Official's Hat Chair is particularly distinctive, and there are also various other types of office chairs.

The Su-style Southern Official's Hat Chair is a highly distinctive type within Su-style office chairs. Taking the one made by Suzhou Yunhong Hongmu Furniture Factory as an example, its design is exquisite and ingenious. The top rail has a rhombus-like shape with smooth and varied lines, adding a touch of agility to the chair. The backrest panel adopts a three-section assembled jointing technique. The upper section is inlaid with natural marble, whose natural and unique texture complements the wooden part, showcasing both the beauty of nature and the exquisite craftsmanship. Below is a lingzhi-shaped opening. In Chinese culture, lingzhi symbolizes good luck and prosperity, so this design is not only decorative but also carries auspicious meanings. The armrests are installed backward with the addition of two mouse-tail (federal stick) supports, which not only enhance the stability of the armrests but also enrich the overall shape of the chair. The front part of the legs has a watangdu-style decorative panel under the apron, which adds a sense of three-dimensionality and layering to the legs. A bow-shaped stretcher is installed under the footrest, with plain aprons on the sides and back. All the legs have a round-outside and square-inside shape, and the back legs are made from a single piece of wood. The overall shape is elegant and dignified, and when paired with central hall furniture, it exudes a scholarly atmosphere, fully demonstrating the elegance and refinement of Su-style furniture.
