Regulations on Office Chairs in State-Owned Enterprises

Admin October 12, 2026

Currently, there are no unified and specific regulations specifically targeting office chairs in state-owned enterprises, but relevant standards from central and local administrative institutions can be referenced.

I. Central Administrative Institution Standards The 'Guidelines on Specifications and Performance of General Office Furniture for Central Administrative Institutions' issued by the National Government Offices Administration provides recommended regulations on the specifications and performance indicators of office chairs. In terms of appearance and main dimensions, it specifies the key dimension ranges for the seat height, seat depth, and seat width of office chairs to ensure compliance with ergonomic principles and provide users with a comfortable sitting experience. Regarding surface physicochemical properties, it requires that the surface materials of office chairs have good wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and stain resistance to meet the usage requirements of daily office environments and ensure that the appearance remains in good condition after long-term use. In terms of mechanical properties, it sets requirements for the strength and stability of the seat surface, backrest, armrests, and other parts of office chairs to ensure that problems such as loosening and breakage do not occur during normal use, thereby safeguarding the safety of users. The environmental protection requirements stipulate that the materials used in office chairs should comply with relevant national environmental protection standards to reduce the release of harmful substances and protect the health of users. At the same time, the configuration of office furniture by central administrative institutions should meet the requirements of simplicity and practicality. Luxury furniture should not be configured, and precious wood should not be used, reflecting the principles of resource conservation and opposition to waste.

II. Local Administrative Institution Standards Taking Chongqing as an example, its municipal administrative institutions' general office equipment and furniture configuration standards stipulate that office desks and chairs should be used for a minimum of 15 years. This regulation emphasizes the durability and long-term use value of office furniture, avoiding resource waste and increased financial expenditures caused by frequent replacement of office furniture. Although this standard is aimed at municipal administrative institutions in Chongqing, it also has certain reference significance for state-owned enterprises in the configuration and use of office chairs, reminding state-owned enterprises to pay attention to the quality and durability of office chairs when selecting them and to reasonably plan the replacement cycle of office furniture.
