Sofa Office Chair Fixation

Admin October 19, 2026

The method for fixing a sofa office chair should be selected based on the chair's type and structure. Here are some common methods:

1. Sofa office chairs with feet (four-legged or round-base support)
If the chair lacks stability, first check if the screws are tightened. Use a screwdriver to tighten all the screws at the connection points, ensuring even force distribution to prevent local loosening and wobbling. If the chair slides due to a smooth floor, attach anti-slip foot pads to the bottom of the chair feet. These pads, usually made of rubber or silicone, increase friction to prevent sliding and protect the floor from scratches.

2. Rocking-chair-type sofa office chairs
Rocking chairs are designed for rocking and relaxation and cannot be completely fixed, but stability can be enhanced by adjusting the ground contact area. Placing anti-slip pads under the chair or directly on a carpet can reduce sliding and lower the rocking amplitude, minimizing the risk of tipping over. If excessive rocking affects the user experience, a damper can be installed at the connection points. The damper restricts the rocking angle, keeping the chair's movement within a controllable range and improving safety.

3. Folding or backrest-adjustable sofa office chairs
The key to fixing these chairs lies in the adjustment mechanism. Before use, check if the adjustment buckles and locks are securely fastened, especially for the backrest and footrest angle adjustments. If the locks are loose, try replacing them with new parts or adding rubber rings inside the buckles to increase friction and prevent accidental sliding. Regularly cleaning dust and debris from the adjustment mechanism can also prevent fixation failures caused by jamming.

4. Wobbling due to uneven floors
If the chair wobbles due to an uneven floor, place wooden or rubber pads on the shorter side of the chair feet. By adjusting the height difference, ensure that all four feet of the chair make even contact with the ground, restoring stability. The padding material should be of moderate hardness and not easily deformable to prevent new imbalances caused by compression over long-term use.

Precautions:

  • Before operating, close the chair's gas lift (if applicable) to avoid accidental lifting or lowering that could cause injury.
  • Regularly inspect the connection points of all chair components to promptly identify and address any loosening or wear issues.
  • If the chair is severely damaged (e.g., a broken footrest), it is recommended to contact a professional for repair or replace the chair rather than attempting to fix it yourself.
