Sliding Office Chair Installation

Admin October 12, 2026

The installation of a sliding office chair should be carried out according to standardized steps. The specific process is as follows:

  1. Component Verification and Sorting
Before installation, carefully verify all components, including the backrest, seat, five-star base, casters, gas lift, butterfly tray (seat plate), armrests, screws, and decorative parts. Different models may have variations; for example, the T37 model requires additional components for the rocking function. It is recommended to sort the components by function to avoid omissions or confusion.

  2. Caster and Five-Star Base Assembly
Align the casters with the slots on the five-star base and press down vertically until fully seated. If installation is difficult due to manufacturing tolerances, apply moderate force or use a rubber mallet for assistance. Some high-end models require distinguishing between front and rear casters; refer to the instructions for correct placement.

  3. Gas Lift and Shroud Installation
Flip the five-star base over and insert the gas lift vertically into the center hole, ensuring the insertion depth reaches the marked line. If the chair is equipped with a shroud, slide it over the gas lift after insertion, with the shroud opening facing the front of the seat. The gas lift is the core component for chair height adjustment; check for scratches or air leaks on its surface.

  4. Seat Plate (Butterfly Tray) Positioning
Attach the seat plate to the top of the gas lift, ensuring the arrow markings on the plate point toward the front of the seat (e.g., T37 model). The connection between the plate and gas lift should be fully seated to prevent wobbling. Some plates require pre-adjustment of the angle to match the seat tilt function.

  5. Backrest and Seat Connection
Align the bottom of the backrest with the holes on the back of the seat. For some models, align one side of the holes with the protrusion on the backrest before snapping it in. Secure with the provided screws, tightening them to a moderate levelโ€”over-tightening may crack plastic parts, while under-tightening can cause rattling. After installation, shake the backrest to check stability.

  6. Armrest Installation and Adjustment
Align the armrests with the holes on both sides of the seat and insert them vertically to avoid misalignment of the screw holes. Some armrests require adding spacers to reduce friction. After tightening the screws, test the left-to-right movement range of the armrests to ensure they conform to ergonomic design.

  7. Overall Assembly and Testing
Align the seat with the center of the seat plate and press down vertically until a โ€œclickโ€ sound indicates proper engagement. Press firmly on the edges of the seat to check the stability of all connections. Test the height adjustment function of the gas lift to ensure smooth operation without sticking.

  8. Headrest and Decorative Part Installation
If the chair is equipped with a headrest, insert its bracket into the holes at the top of the backrest and tighten the screws. Finally, install decorative buttons or panels to cover the screw holes and enhance the overall appearance.

  9. Final Inspection and Adjustment
After installation, shake the chair left and right and simulate sitting to check for smooth caster rotation, stable gas lift height adjustment, and smooth backrest tilt. If any loose components are found, re-tighten the screws or adjust the clip positions.

Note: Installation steps may vary by model; for example, the T37 model requires loosening the rocking knob to enable forward and backward rocking. Avoid using excessive force during installation; if resistance is encountered, check the orientation of the components.
