Siesta Office Chair Recline Adjustment

Admin October 22, 2026

To recline an office chair for a siesta, follow these steps:

1. Unlock the Recline Function

The recline function of most office chairs is controlled by a handle on the right side. Locate this handle and gently pull it to unlock the backrest, allowing it to tilt backward freely. This step is fundamental for adjusting the recline; ensure the handle is fully pulled out to prevent the backrest from being immobile due to an unlocked state.

2. Adjust the Recline Tension

Some office chairs are equipped with a cylindrical knob on the base to adjust the backrest's rebound support force. Turning the knob clockwise increases the rebound force, suitable for users who are heavier or require stronger support; turning it counterclockwise decreases the rebound force, making the backrest softer and ideal for users who are lighter or prefer a more relaxed recline. Adjust slowly and test gradually until you reach a comfortable state.

3. Lock the Recline Angle

Once the backrest is tilted to the desired angle, lock it in place for stability. A lever is usually located on the right side of the seat cushion. Pulling it out allows the chair to recline freely; after finding the target angle, gently push the lever back into place to lock the current angle. Be mindful of the force applied to avoid angle deviation due to excessive pushing.

4. Return to Upright Position

After the siesta, return the chair to an upright position. First, pull the lever outward, and at the same time, gently push the backrest with your back to gradually straighten the chair; once fully upright, push the lever back into the locked position to secure the chair. This action prevents accidental reclining and ensures safety during use.

Adjustment for Special Types of Office Chairs

Some office chairs designed for both work and siesta (such as the Bajiujian C6 Boss Chair) offer greater flexibility, supporting a 180-degree flat lay, suitable for long naps. These chairs typically come with more complex adjustment mechanisms, possibly including independent adjustments for the headrest and lumbar support. Users should refer to the specific product manual for operation.

Precautions: Before adjusting, confirm the chair's weight capacity to avoid damage from overloading; maintain body balance during the adjustment process to prevent falls due to sudden reclining or straightening. If the chair lacks the aforementioned adjustment functions, it is advisable to contact the manufacturer for professional guidance.
