Self-Assembled Office Chair
Admin October 10, 2026
The self-assembled office chair can be assembled following the steps below, with solo dwellers needing to pay particular attention to safety and operational details:

I. Pre-assembly Preparation
- Tools and Materials: Prepare the product manual, large screws, gloves, a rubber mallet (for assisting in inserting components), and lubricant (optional, for when wheels or gas lift rods get stuck) in advance. Solo dwellers are advised to choose a manual with detailed illustrations to avoid operational errors due to unclear text descriptions.
- Environment Inspection: Ensure the ground is level to prevent component misalignment or tipping during assembly due to shaking. If the ground is hard, lay a soft mat to protect the five-star base.
II. Specific Assembly Steps
- Install Wheels and Five-Star Base
- Align the wheels with the slots on the five-star base and press down vertically with force until a 'click' sound is heard, confirming they are securely fastened. If the wheels are difficult to insert, gently tap the top of the wheels with a rubber mallet for assistance. Never strike directly with metal tools to prevent damage to the plastic structure.
- If solo dwellers lack sufficient strength, they can place the base on the ground and use their body weight to assist in pressing down the wheels, or install them one by one in multiple attempts.
- Insert Gas Lift Rod
- Align the bottom of the gas lift rod with the central hole on the five-star base, insert it vertically, and rotate slightly to ensure full contact with the base. The gas lift rod is the core component for adjusting seat height, so check that it is installed securely to prevent loosening during subsequent use.
- Secure Seat Body and Base Plate
- Unpack the base plate and place the seat body (including cushion and backrest) upside down on a soft surface to avoid scratching.
- Align the base plate with the screw holes on the bottom of the seat body and initially secure it with large screws. Ensure the screws are fully threaded in to prevent loosening later. Solo dwellers can use an electric screwdriver for efficiency or manually tighten them patiently if no tools are available.
- Lift the assembled seat body and base plate together, align them with the top of the gas lift rod, slowly lower them, and adjust the angle to ensure full engagement between the seat body and the gas lift rod.
III. Safety and Adjustment Recommendations
- After assembly, sit on the chair and gently shake to check the stability of all components, especially the connections between the wheels and the gas lift rod.
- Adjust the height of the gas lift rod and test the smoothness of the lifting and lowering motion. If it gets stuck, apply a small amount of lubricant to the surface of the gas lift rod.
- If solo dwellers are not confident in their operations, they can contact the merchant for video guidance or invite friends to assist with key steps (such as installing the gas lift rod).
IV. Additional Recommendations for Choosing an Office Chair If long-term use is required, consider the following criteria when selecting a chair before assembly:
- Lumbar and Back Fit: Prioritize models with adjustable lumbar supports that can be moved up and down or forward and backward to accommodate different sitting postures.
- Seat Cushion Design: For prolonged sitting, pay attention to the support of the seat cushion to avoid excessive sinking of the buttocks. Chairs with adjustable seat depths can accommodate different leg lengths.
- Structural Safety: Check that the gas lift rod has safety certifications such as SGS and that the base plate is made of thickened steel to prevent breakage risks.
