Seat Office Chair

Admin October 08, 2026

Office chairs are chairs equipped for the convenience of work in daily work and social activities. There are differences in classification and installation methods, and there have been multiple recall events due to quality issues.

From a classification perspective, OfficeMate categorizes office chairs into narrow and broad categories. Narrow office chairs refer to backrest chairs used for desk work while sitting. These chairs are typically designed with ergonomics in mind, providing comfortable sitting support for users and reducing fatigue from prolonged work. Broad office chairs encompass all chairs used in offices, including executive chairs and staff chairs. Executive chairs are generally used in the offices of senior corporate executives, featuring a more luxurious and grand design with richer functions, such as adjustable height and tilt angles. Staff chairs, on the other hand, focus more on practicality and cost-effectiveness, meeting the daily office needs of ordinary employees.

The installation methods of different models of office chairs vary. Taking the 1033A office chair as an example, during installation, materials need to be prepared first, and then operations should be carried out according to the video. Use screw J to place the washer, insert it, and then secure it with screw L. For installing the armrests, screw K is required. When installing the 2022A office chair, first install the base casters, then use screw J and K in combination with washer L to install the chassis. For installing the armrests, screws and screw sleeves are needed. This indicates that when installing office chairs, it is essential to strictly follow the installation instructions for the corresponding model. Otherwise, the installation may not be secure, affecting usage safety.

The quality issues of office chairs cannot be ignored. On March 2, 2023, the United States and Canada implemented a recall of office chairs made in China due to the risk of the backrest breaking, which posed a falling hazard. At that time, 12 reports had been received, including 10 injury reports. On September 30, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation conducted a national supervision and inspection of office chairs and found that 15 batches of products were unqualified, with stability issues being particularly prominent. On January 16, 2025, the United States implemented a recall of WorkPro Momentum office chairs made in China due to the potential failure of bolts, which posed a falling hazard. Seven reports had been received, including two minor injuries. These recall events remind consumers to pay attention to product quality and safety performance when purchasing and using office chairs.
