Rice Office Chair Race
The "Rice Office Chair Race" is an "office chair racing" competition held in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Here is an introduction to it from multiple aspects:

Participants and Grouping: The event attracted approximately 170 participants from all over Japan, including not only locals from Hasuda City in Saitama Prefecture but also contestants who็นๆ came from Yamagata Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture. These participants were grouped into 56 teams, with three members in each team, to compete in the race.
Race Rules: Participants had to sit on office chairs equipped with wheels and slide backward in a relay manner. Each team's three members had to take turns running for a total of 2 hours, which was a great test of their physical strength, endurance, and teamwork abilities.
Race Track: The competition took place on a commercial street in the center of Hasuda City. To ensure the smooth progress of the race, the surrounding roads were closed on the day of the event. Staff also specially laid a dedicated track about 200 meters long a week in advance to provide a good racing environment for the participants.
Race Process: The race site was very lively. The participants sat on their chairs and ran sweatily on the track. Due to the backward sliding and the various situations that could occur during the relay, there were many unexpected incidents and constant laughter on the spot. The visiting spectators were also enthusiastic, constantly cheering for the participants and creating a warm atmosphere.
Race Results: There are different sayings about the origin of the winning team. One version is that they were from Kyoto, while another claims they were from Tokyo. They ran a total of about 25 kilometers in 2 hours and won a prize of 90 kilograms of locally produced rice from Yamagata Prefecture.
Race Purpose: The purpose of holding this unique competition is to enhance the vitality of the city, attract more people's attention to Hasuda City, and promote local development.
