Replacement of Office Chair Legs

Admin October 10, 2026

There are several methods for replacing office chair legs, and you can choose the appropriate one based on the type of chair legs:

I. Installation of F28 New Inclined Chair Legs

  1. Footrest Assembly: First, unscrew the reserved screws on the footrest. Insert one side of the footrest into the steel pipe on the other side. Use a wrench to tighten the reserved screws in sequence to ensure the footrest is initially fixed.
  2. Overall Fixation: After completing the footrest assembly, install components such as angle irons and armrests (if applicable). Finally, align the footrest with the holes at the bottom of the seat cushion and firmly connect the footrest to the seat cushion using four fine extended screws.
  3. Stability Adjustment: If the chair legs wobble after installation, level them by installing foot nails. Specifically, place two washers on the foot nails and tighten the foot nails against the bottom of the chair legs. If there is still slight unevenness, slightly rotate one of the foot nails for fine-tuning.

II. Removal and Replacement of Five-Star Chair Legs for Office Chairs

  1. Method 1: Shaking and Lifting Method: Step on the five-star footrest with one foot, hold both sides of the seat cushion with both hands, shake it left and right, and lift it upwards. Repeat this action until the old footrest is loosened and removed. If unsuccessful, try changing the gripping position on the seat cushion (such as the front and back sides) and repeat the operation.
  2. Method 2: Knocking and Removal Method: Turn the chair upside down and check if there is a flat washer snap ring at the bottom of the central column. If so, use a tool to remove the snap ring, extract the old five-star footrest, and replace it with a new one. If there is no snap ring, since the connection between the five-star footrest and the steel column is conical, gently knock on the edge of the five-star footrest with an iron hammer to separate it from the steel column and then replace it.

III. Simple Repair and Replacement of Stool Legs If the stool legs are made of plastic and are broken, first knock open the iron ring inside the stool legs, remove the damaged plastic parts, and then replace them with iron or galvanized iron stool legs. This type of repair is suitable for stools with simple structures. Ensure that the new stool legs match the size and hole positions of the original stool body. After installation, check the firmness.

Precautions:

  • Before operation, confirm the type of chair legs (such as inclined legs, five-star legs, etc.) and choose the corresponding method.
  • When using tools (such as wrenches and iron hammers), control the force to avoid damaging other parts of the chair.
  • If there are special designs (such as snaps or threads) at the connection between the chair legs and the seat cushion, refer to the product manual for operation.
  • After replacement, test the stability of the chair to ensure there is no wobbling or abnormal noise.
