Reflections on Repairing an Office Chair
The experience of repairing an office chair can bring profound insights in various aspects.

Firstly, I've realized that true value doesn't lie in how new or old something looks, but in the stories and emotions behind it. During the repair process, I encountered issues like broken and decayed wood and loose screws. Initially, when trying to fix it myself, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't restore the chair to its original state. For example, when dealing with an old office chair with severely worn surfaces and aging parts, I attempted to replace the parts and reinforce the structure, but the results were always unsatisfactory. However, with the help of a professional old carpenter, although the chair looked brand new, it had repair marks. At that moment, I understood that these marks weren't flaws but witnesses to the chair's journey through time, carrying the stories and emotions of its past users. Just like in life, we go through the trials of wind and rain and are left with the 'marks' of setbacks. But as long as we take the time to repair and cherish, we can regain new vitality. The intrinsic value endowed by these experiences is far more important than a shiny exterior.
Secondly, I've learned that one needs patience and perseverance in everything and should never give up halfway. When I became a little repairman and started fixing the office chair I often sat on, at first, I was at a loss when facing loose nails. Upon further inspection, I found that the wood was cracked. At this point, I needed to clean the crack and then apply glue for bonding. The whole process was not only tortuous but also likely to get my hands dirty. But as long as I persevered and didn't give up because of the difficulties, I could eventually repair the chair successfully. This made me realize that whether it's repairing items or dealing with other things in life, we'll encounter various problems. Only by remaining patient, solving them step by step, and overcoming difficulties with perseverance can we reap the joy of success and experience the sense of accomplishment of making things better through our own efforts.
