Method 1: Simple Adapter Bracket Modification

• Remove the Fixed Bracket: First, remove the fixed bracket installed on the car body from the original seat. This step is to allow for the free installation of other components later, enabling the seat to be detached from the car's original fixed structure and preparing it for subsequent modifications.
• Fabricate and Install Adapter Brackets and Wheels: Fabricate four adapter brackets and install them at appropriate positions beneath the seat. Then, install wheels on the adapter brackets. This allows for 360-degree movement of the seat, providing the office chair with flexible mobility to meet the needs of moving between different office areas.

Method 2: Modification Using the Xpeng X9 Front Passenger Seat as an Example

• Prepare Materials and Tools: You will need a custom aluminum plate, M8 screws with nuts, armrests over 45cm in height, an office chair base with wheels, a 12V battery, a domestic automotive wiring harness plug connector, and an M8 screwdriver bit, among others. These materials and tools are essential for completing the modification. The custom aluminum plate is used to connect the seat to other components, the armrests provide comfortable support, the office chair base with wheels enables mobility, and the 12V battery powers the seat's electric functions.
• Specific Assembly Steps
  • Seat Power Installation: According to the wiring diagram, connect the two positive and two negative wires of the purchased male plug to the positive and negative terminals of the DC female port, respectively. Then, insert the male plug into the female port beneath the seat, connect the male plug of the 12V battery through the DC female port, and finally test whether the seat can move forward and backward electrically. This step ensures that the seat's electric function works properly and is one of the key steps in the entire modification.
  • Install Armrests: Install the two armrests on the left and right sides of the aluminum plate, with each armrest corresponding to three screw holes on the aluminum plate. Ensure that the correct side armrests are installed to guarantee a secure and user-friendly installation.
  • Install Base Bracket: Install the square base bracket at the four holes in the center of the aluminum plate to provide a stable support structure for subsequent seat fixation.
  • Fix the Seat: Install the steel onto the underside of the seat, then install the screws at the four corners of the seat to fix it to the aluminum plate, ensuring a tight connection between the seat and the aluminum plate.
  • Install Wheels: Install the wheels onto the seat base bracket, connect the seat with the aluminum plate installed, and complete the assembly of the electric office chair, which takes approximately 25 minutes in total.
