Quick-Release Office Chair
The disassembly of quick-release office chairs can usually be achieved through standardized operations, and some models with convenient designs can even have their main components disassembled without professional tools.

Seat Disassembly
The seats of most office chairs are fixed with screws and rotary knobs. To disassemble, first flip the chair over, locate the fixing screws at the bottom of the seat, and loosen them (some models may require complete removal). Then, rotate the adjustment knob or buckle below the seat counterclockwise. This action releases the connection between the seat and the chair frame. When you hear a 'click' sound or feel the resistance disappear, the seat can be easily lifted. Note: If the screws are rusted or the adjustment knob is stuck, a small amount of lubricant can be sprayed to assist in the operation.
Backrest Disassembly
The backrest is fixed in a similar way to the seat, usually relying on screws or buckles at the connection between the backrest and the chair frame. To disassemble, first locate the fixing screws on both sides or at the bottom of the backrest, and loosen them with a screwdriver of the corresponding size (some models use quick-release screws that can be hand-tightened directly). If the backrest is designed with notches or grooves, rotate it counterclockwise until the notches align. At this point, the locking structure between the backrest and the chair frame is released, and it can be lifted vertically for disassembly. Key Point: Before operation, confirm whether the backrest is linked to the gas lift or adjustment mechanism to avoid damage caused by forced disassembly.
Wheel Disassembly
To disassemble the wheels (casters), completely flip the chair over so that the wheels face upwards. Most wheels are connected to the chair frame with fixing screws or buckles:
- Screw-Fixed Type: Use a screwdriver to loosen the fixing screw in the center of the wheel, and then pull the wheel straight down with your hand to separate it;
- Buckle-Fixed Type: Use a tool (such as a screwdriver) to pry open the buckle at the connection between the wheel and the chair frame, or press the edge of the wheel firmly to make it pop out. Tip: If the wheel is stuck due to long-term use, lightly tap the edge of the wheel or spray lubricant to assist in disassembly.
Armrest Disassembly
The fixing methods of armrests vary by model, with common designs including:
- Screw Fixing: Locate the screws at the connection between the armrest and the seat or backrest, and loosen them. The armrest can then be drawn out horizontally;
- Quick-Release Buckle: Some models are designed with elastic buckles at the bottom of the armrests. Press the buckle and lift the armrest upwards simultaneously for disassembly. Note: Before disassembly, record the installation direction of the armrests to avoid incorrect positioning during reassembly.
Some office chairs (such as the Xiamumu Fit2) optimize the disassembly and assembly experience through modular design. Their parts are packaged in a standardized manner, screws are numbered independently, and they are equipped with illustrated instructions and 3D diagrams, allowing even novices to complete disassembly quickly. Such designs usually adopt standardized interfaces, reducing tool dependence and further embodying the 'quick-release' feature.
