Quality Inspection Room Office Chair

Admin October 22, 2026

The equipment used in the quality inspection room for testing office chairs mainly includes office chair rotation testers, seat impact testers, armrest fatigue testers, caster life testers, etc. Some institutions also offer customized equipment services.

The office chair rotation tester is one of the core pieces of equipment in the quality inspection room, primarily used to test the rotational durability of office chairs. By setting parameters such as the number of rotations and load, it simulates the rotational movements of long-term user use and evaluates the stability of the connection structure between the seat and the base. For example, after 100,000 consecutive rotations, it checks whether the rotating mechanism exhibits any stuttering, abnormal noises, or looseness to ensure the product meets durability standards.

The seat impact tester is used to verify the impact resistance of the office chair seat. The equipment releases an impact hammer of a specific weight (e.g., 50 kg) from a fixed height to vertically strike the seat, simulating the impact force when a person suddenly sits down. After testing, it is necessary to check whether the seat shows any cracking, deformation, or permanent indentation to ensure that the material strength and structural design can withstand the dynamic loads encountered during daily use.

The armrest fatigue tester is designed to test the durability of the armrests of office chairs. It applies reciprocating pressure to the armrests through a robotic arm (e.g., with a load of 50 N and a frequency of 2 Hz), simulating the actions of a user's arms resting or moving frequently over a long period. After continuous testing for tens of thousands of cycles, it observes whether the connection parts of the armrests become loose or if the surface coating peels off, ensuring that their structural strength and surface treatment processes meet quality requirements.

The caster life tester is used to evaluate the reliability of the moving parts of office chairs. The chair is fixed on a test platform, and the casters are driven by a motor to roll back and forth on a specific track (e.g., with a load of 100 kg, a stroke of 2 m, and a frequency of 10 cycles per minute), simulating actual moving scenarios. After testing, it checks whether the casters become stuck, if the wheels wear out, or if the brackets break, ensuring smooth movement and service life.

In addition, some testing institutions (such as DR Detection) offer customized equipment services and can develop dedicated testing devices according to the special needs of enterprises. For example, for the special structure of high-end gaming chairs, a comprehensive tester with a force measurement range of 0-5 kN, an accuracy of ยฑ1%, and a test speed of 0.1-500 mm/min can be customized to achieve multi-dimensional performance testing and meet differentiated quality control requirements.
