Pulley Office Chair Structure

Admin October 12, 2026

The structure of a pulley office chair mainly consists of five parts: the base, gas lift, seat cushion, backrest, and wheels. Some designs also include components such as chair legs, armrests, lumbar pillows, and headrests.

Base: The base is the foundational support structure of a pulley office chair, typically made of metal or high-strength plastic. It connects the gas lift, chair legs, and wheels, ensuring the overall stability and load-bearing capacity of the chair. The design of the base must consider force distribution to disperse body weight and prevent damage from excessive local pressure.

Gas Lift: The gas lift is the core adjustment component of a pulley office chair, enabling height adjustment through compressed gas. When the user presses the lift handle, the gas inside the lift is compressed or released, changing the chair's height to accommodate different desk heights or the user's sitting posture. The design of the gas lift must comply with safety standards to prevent gas leakage or explosion risks.

Seat Cushion: The seat cushion is made of materials such as high-density foam or memory foam, dispersing pressure on the buttocks through its rebound properties to prevent sagging or discomfort from prolonged sitting. The surface of the cushion is usually covered with breathable fabric, such as mesh or leather, to maintain dryness and comfort. Some high-end cushions are also designed with curved or ergonomic contours to better fit the shape of the buttocks and enhance the sitting experience.

Backrest: The backrest is often designed as a high backrest to support the user's lumbar spine and back, reducing fatigue from prolonged sitting. The material of the backrest is typically breathable mesh or waterproof fabric, ensuring both support and dryness for the back. Some backrests are also equipped with adjustable angle or height functions to accommodate different body types and sitting postures of users.

Wheels: The wheels are usually designed as universal wheels, allowing smooth movement on carpets or hard floors and reducing the frequency of the user getting up to move. The material of the wheels must be wear-resistant and quiet to avoid noise or damage to the floor during movement. Some high-end wheels are also equipped with brake functions for easy fixation of the chair's position.

In addition, some pulley office chairs also include components such as chair legs, armrests, lumbar pillows, and headrests. The chair legs are typically designed as five-star legs, providing more stable support; the armrests can be adjusted in height or angle to support the user's arms; the lumbar pillow and headrest further enhance support for the lumbar spine and neck, improving overall comfort.
