Press-Fit Installation of Office Chairs
The steps for press-fit installation of office chairs vary depending on the model, but the common process can be summarized as follows:

1. Basic Installation
For some models, it is necessary to install the base plate and seat cushion first: Align the base plate with the screw holes at the bottom of the seat cushion and tighten it with a No. 3 screw and an Allen wrench. If the chair is equipped with a five-claw base, insert the chair wheels one by one into the assembly holes at the bottom of the five-claw base. Ensure that the catches are fully embedded, then flip the five-claw base over and insert the thicker end of the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the five-claw base. Pay attention to keeping the direction of the chair wheels consistent to avoid poor sliding after installation.
2. Connecting the Gas Lift and the Seat Base
After inserting the gas lift into the center hole of the chair base, align the seat base with the screw holes on the chair seat. For some models, use four B screws to pass through the bottom of the seat base and fix it to the chair seat; for other models, place the seat base directly on the seat cushion, align the screw holes, and tighten them. Key point: The gas lift must be inserted vertically, and the seat base and chair seat must be fully in contact to prevent shaking during subsequent use.
3. Assembling the Seat and the Backrest
There are two ways to install the backrest:
- Insertion type: Align the two sides at the bottom of the backrest with the installation slots on the armrests of the seat cushion, gently press to embed them, and then use two C screws to pass through from the bottom of the armrest brackets and fix them.
- Locking type: Use a D screw in conjunction with two wrenches to fix the connection between the backrest and the seat cushion brackets respectively, ensuring that the screws are tightened without gaps.
If the backrest has a soft cover, use short silver No. 10 screws to fix the soft cover to the backrest frame.
4. Installing the Armrests and the Headrest
To install the armrests, press the button below the armrest surface, align the left and right armrests with the bracket holes and insert them. A "click" sound indicates that the catches are in place. To install the headrest, place it in the middle position at the top of the backrest, press firmly on the installation area to make it fit the backrest, and then use two E screws to pass through the fixing catches and tighten them. Note: Keep the headrest horizontal to avoid affecting comfort due to tilting.
5. Adjusting the Gravity Wheels and the Lift Rod
For some models, press the gravity wheels into the slots of the chair base, ensure they are fully embedded, insert the lift gas rod into the center hole of the chair base, and then align the seat cushion with the gas rod and insert it into the hole of the seat base. After installation, test the lift function to ensure that the gas rod extends and retracts smoothly without jamming.
6. Final Inspection and Adjustment
Check that all screws are tightened, with a focus on the connections between the gas rod and the seat base, and between the backrest and the seat cushion. Shake the chair to test its stability and ensure there is no looseness or abnormal noise. If the chair is equipped with adjustable functions (such as armrest height and headrest angle), adjust them to a comfortable position according to your needs.
Tip: The installation order and tools may vary for different models. It is recommended to refer to the product manual or installation video first. If you encounter resistance during installation, do not force the press. Instead, check whether the components are aligned or have defects.
