Precise Adjustment of Office Chairs

Admin October 10, 2026

Precise adjustment of office chairs should be carried out from aspects such as height, task suitability, safety and comfort, and other functional adjustments, as detailed below:

I. Adjusting the Height Look for the hand control device, usually located beneath the seat or on the side. While seated, you can adjust the height by pulling up the control lever or turning the knob; if unsure of the operation method, read the instructions or try each lever one by one. When adjusting, move gently a few inches (or centimeters) at a time, and return the lever to its original position after adjustment. Some pneumatic model seats require repeated pushing of the lever up and down (pumping) to achieve height adjustment. If adjustment from a seated position is not sufficient, you can adopt a standing position: place the front of the chair under your knees, and after sitting down, ensure your feet are flat on the ground.

II. Choosing the Appropriate Height Based on the Task

  • When working on a computer: Keep your eyes level with the monitor. If the monitor height is not adjustable, adjust the seat height to align your line of sight with the center of the screen, avoiding neck extension or flexion.
  • When working at a desk: Keep your elbows at desk height, with your forearms parallel to the desk surface, reducing stress on the shoulders and wrists.
  • When sitting for long periods: Adjust the seat height so that your feet are flat on the floor and your knees are bent at a 90ยฐ angle, avoiding leg suspension or excessive pressure.

III. Enhancing Safety and Comfort

  • Armrest adjustment: If the chair is equipped with armrests, adjust the height according to your needs. Lower or remove the armrests when arm support is not required to prevent them from obstructing your knees from sliding under the desk; if the armrests are too high, they may compress the arm nerves and require timely adjustment.
  • Dynamic sitting posture: Change your sitting posture every 15-30 minutes, such as briefly leaning forward and then returning to an upright position, or slightly adjusting the distribution of your body's center of gravity to promote blood circulation.
  • Footrest assistance: If the seat is too high and your feet cannot touch the ground, use a footrest to support your feet and keep your knees naturally bent.

IV. Other Adjustment Functions Some high-end ergonomic chairs (such as the Baibaidiao E3Air fourth generation) offer multi-dimensional adjustments:

  • Lumbar support adjustment: The curved backrest of the three-zone floating wing lumbar support can move up and down, with the side soft pads supporting 40ยฐ inward rotation to fit the lumbar curve; the 14ยฐ adaptive function provides dynamic support as the sitting posture changes.
  • Neck pillow adjustment: The four-dimensional dual-axis neck pillow supports lifting and rotation, allowing adjustment to a comfortable angle that supports the cervical spine.
  • Armrest adjustment: The 6D mechanical arm armrests can be raised to be level with the desk surface, with a front-to-back movement range of about 20 centimeters, providing stable support for the arms even when folded back.
  • Seat cushion adjustment: The seat cushion can slide forward and backward according to body shape, and the chassis's adaptive gravity sensing technology can automatically match body weight to disperse pressure.

Through systematic adjustment, the adaptability and comfort of the office chair can be significantly improved, reducing the risk of fatigue from prolonged sitting.
