Practical Solid Wood Furniture Care to Extend Its Life!
Solid wood furniture is beloved by many for its warm, natural character. In daily use, keeping it looking as good as new is especially important: you need to fully understand the nature of the furniture and master the right cleaning and care techniques to effectively extend its service life.

1. Keep the Surface Clean and Well Maintained
Clean the surface regularly: because the surface is finished with paint, maintaining and caring for the finish matters greatly. Once the finish is damaged, it affects not only the appearance but also the internal structure of the furniture, shortening its service life. In daily care, gently wipe the surface with a dry, soft cotton cloth to remove dust; periodically clean dust from corners, gaps, and crevices with a semi-damp cotton cloth, then dry everything with a cotton cloth.
2. Avoid Using Alcohol, Gasoline, or Other Chemical Solvents to Remove Stains
If there is a stain on the surface, never scrub at it hard, and never use chemical solvents to remove it forcefully โ otherwise you may get rid of the stain only to damage the furniture in the process. Instead, gently wipe the stain with a soft cloth dipped in warm water; once the surface is dry, apply some polish wax and buff lightly a few times to form a protective film.

3. Avoid Scratching the Surface with Hard Objects
When cleaning, take care that your cleaning tools do not bump into the furniture surface, and above all avoid contact between hard metal objects or sharp implements and the furniture. Otherwise the surface may get scratched, and such damage is difficult to repair.
4. Keep Solid Wood Furniture Away from Damp Environments
In humid weather, place a thin rubber pad between the furniture and the floor. Also, when positioning the furniture, try to keep a distance of about 1 cm from the wall โ this allows air to circulate behind it and prevents mold from forming.
5. Keep Solid Wood Furniture Away from Heat Sources
In the cold of winter, if you use heating at home, keep the furniture at least 1 meter away from the heat source. Otherwise, prolonged exposure to heat can cause the wood to crack or warp and the finish to deteriorate.
6. Place Furniture Where It Is Not Exposed to Direct Sunlight
When placing solid wood furniture at home, try to avoid direct sunlight; prolonged exposure can cause the paint to peel and the wood to crack. If the placement cannot be adjusted, use sheer curtains as a barrier. This not only preserves the natural light indoors but also makes the room feel warmer and more romantic, while protecting the furniture and extending its service life.
