Pneumatic and Hydraulic Office Chairs
There are differences between pneumatic and hydraulic office chairs in terms of safety, service life, and maintenance, as detailed below:

Safety:
Pneumatic and hydraulic office chairs both pass national safety standard testing and certification, with no significant differences in safety during normal use. However, pneumatic office chairs using low-quality pneumatic rods (such as insufficient nitrogen purity or thin tube walls) may pose an explosion risk due to abnormal internal pressure. It is advisable to choose products with SGS, TUV, or other safety certifications and explosion-proof steel plate designs to reduce risks. Hydraulic office chairs, which operate through hydraulic systems, have no risk of gas explosions but require attention to the sealing of hydraulic columns. Seal failure may lead to liquid leakage or sudden drops. Both types should avoid overloading to prevent structural damage.
Service Life:
The core component of a pneumatic office chair is the pneumatic rod, whose lifespan depends on material and manufacturing quality. High-quality pneumatic rods, made of high-strength alloy steel, offer stable load-bearing capacity and can last 5-10 years under normal use. Hydraulic office chairs rely on hydraulic columns, which may experience reduced lifting performance over time due to liquid loss, seal aging, or hydraulic oil contamination, requiring regular replacement of hydraulic columns or seals. Their overall lifespan is typically shorter than that of pneumatic office chairs. Additionally, pneumatic office chairs have a simpler structure and lower failure rates, further extending their service life.
Maintenance:
Pneumatic office chairs are easy to maintain. Daily care involves keeping them clean, avoiding scratches from sharp objects, and regularly checking the stability of the pneumatic rod (e.g., pressing the seat to observe smooth lifting). Hydraulic office chairs require more frequent maintenance: regularly check the sealing of hydraulic columns to prevent hydraulic oil leakage; replace seals or hydraulic oil if lifting becomes sluggish; and consider replacing the entire hydraulic column after long-term use, which incurs higher maintenance costs. Furthermore, hydraulic chairs have stricter environmental requirements and should be kept away from damp or extreme temperature conditions to prevent corrosion or performance degradation of the hydraulic system.
Summary: Pneumatic office chairs offer advantages in safety control, longevity, and simple maintenance, making them suitable for most office settings. Hydraulic office chairs, while free from gas explosion risks, require more meticulous maintenance and have a shorter lifespan, making them more suitable for specialized scenarios demanding high lifting stability. The choice should be based on usage frequency, budget, and maintenance capabilities.
