Plastic Office Chair Assembly
Admin October 10, 2026
The assembly of a plastic office chair can be carried out according to the following steps:

Unboxing Preparation
- Check Component Integrity: After opening the package, verify that all components, including chair legs, seat cushion, backrest, and screw pack, are present. Also, inspect the plastic and metal parts for any cracks or damage caused during transportation.
- Prepare Tools: Typically, you will need an Allen wrench (the most common), a Phillips/flat-head screwdriver, a box wrench, etc. These tools may be included with the product; confirm that the models match in advance. If not included, prepare them according to the screw types.
- Assembly Environment: Choose an area with a flat floor, ample space, and good lighting to avoid component damage or installation difficulties due to environmental issues during assembly.
General Assembly Steps
Install Base and Casters:
- If the chair comes with a five-star base and casters, align the casters (swivel casters) with the bottom sockets of the five-star base and press vertically until you hear a 'click' indicating they are fully seated. For threaded casters, screw them into the holes.
- Ensure all wheels are securely installed with no risk of loosening or detachment.
Install the Lifting Gas Cylinder:
- For adjustable swivel chairs, first remove the plastic protective cap from the top of the gas cylinder. Place the thinner end of the cylinder (with the button) facing upwards and insert it vertically into the circular hole in the center of the five-star base, pressing gently until it bottoms out.
Install Seat Cushion and Connect Base Plate:
- Place the seat cushion face down on a soft surface (such as a carpet or cardboard box) to avoid scratching the surface.
- Locate the metal or plastic base plate at the bottom of the seat. Align it with the front direction as indicated by the arrows in the instructions and loosely secure the screws to the screw holes at the bottom of the seat cushion for initial fixation, but do not fully tighten them yet for subsequent adjustments.
Assemble Backrest and Armrests:
- Align the armrests with the left and right markings and insert them into the้ข็ holes (pre-drilled holes) on the sides of the seat cushion or connect them loosely with screws.
- Align the connection points of the backrest with the armrests and the rear part of the seat cushion. Pass all connecting screws through the holes and initially tighten them with a tool (such as an Allen wrench).
- After completing the structural connections, gradually tighten all screws in a diagonal sequence to ensure even force distribution and avoid local looseness.
Overall Combination and Final Fixation:
- Lift the seat cushion (including the backrest and armrests) and align it with the installed base part.
- For chairs with a gas cylinder, simply place the hole at the bottom of the seat cushion over the gas cylinder and rely on its weight to complete the installation. For chairs without a gas cylinder, follow the instructions to secure the connection parts.
Precautions: During assembly, strictly follow the instructions in the manual to avoid forced installation that may cause component damage. Before fully tightening all screws, check the alignment of all components to ensure the chair is structurally stable and safe to use.
