Password Unlock Office Chair
Admin October 09, 2026
If the password lock on the office chair is similar in structure to a common three-digit roller password lock, you can follow these steps to unlock it:

I. Unlocking Method When the Password is Known
- Align with the Unlock Indicator: Turn the rollers or password dial of the lock one by one to the preset numbers (e.g., "123"), ensuring that each number is precisely aligned with the unlock indicator on the lock body (usually a scale line or notch).
- Trigger the Unlock Mechanism: After entering the password, gently pull the lock bolt or press the unlock button (some locks may require both actions simultaneously) to release the locked state.
Note: If the password is entered correctly but the lock does not open, check if the lock bolt is stuck by foreign objects or if the password dial has shifted due to long-term use (you can fine-tune the numbers and try again).
II. Cracking Method When the Password is Forgotten
Trial-and-Error Method
- Full-Range Trial: Start from "000" and adjust the numbers one by one in sequence to "999" until the lock opens. This method is suitable for locks with a small number of password digits (e.g., 3 digits), but it is time-consuming.
- Notch Observation Method: Use a strong light to illuminate the gap between the rollers and observe the position of the internal notch. For most locks, the number corresponding to the notch needs to be increased by 5 (e.g., if the notch is "2", the actual password may be "7"). Combine and test the addition and subtraction results of the notch number (e.g., "2+5=7", "2-5=-3โ7").
Cracking a Dial-Type Password Lock
- Groove Positioning Method: Use a strong light to illuminate the groove on the rotating shaft and record the groove number (e.g., "6"). According to the design rule of the lock, the password may be "groove number ยฑ fixed value" (e.g., "6-5=1" or "6+3=9"). Combine and test related numbers (e.g., "1", "9", "4", etc.).
One-by-One Probing Method
- Gently pull the lock catch to maintain a slight force and slowly rotate the password dial. When rotating to the correct number, the lock catch will experience a slight reduction in resistance or a sense of stuttering due to internal structural changes. Record this position and combine and test it.
III. Emergency Unlocking Solutions
- Use an Emergency Key: Check if the lock is equipped with a mechanical keyhole (usually located below or on the side of the password dial). Insert the key and rotate it to unlock.
- Reset the Password: Some locks have a reset button (which needs to be pressed with a sharp object like a paperclip). Hold down the button, enter a new password, and confirm it to overwrite the original password.
- Contact the Manufacturer: If the lock is a branded product, you can provide the model number and purchase proof to contact customer service for unlocking guidance; if it is a rented device or company asset, you need to contact the administrative staff first to obtain permissions and avoid disputes caused by unauthorized operations.
Tip: Locks that have not been used for a long time may experience difficulty in unlocking due to aging of internal parts. It is recommended to regularly lubricate the rollers or rotating shafts (e.g., using graphite powder) and avoid violent disassembly to prevent damage to the furniture.
